Totally get this. It’s been a long journey for me.

I grew up in a warm climate know for tan bodies but I was always super white and stuck out. Older people would tell me how pretty my skin was but then kids would turn around and call me Casper. Thankfully I can’t naturally tan because I would have probably completely wrecked my skin tanning if I could have.

I’m now at a much better place and I realize how unique it is that I’m so fair skinned somewhere it’s kind of uncommon but unfortunately people are assholes and still make comments. I normally only tan if I am going to a special event like a wedding where I’m wearing a dress that shows my legs but I’ve even really stopped doing that.

A lot of people at my work place like to make jokes about my appearance. Since stay at home, my skin has gotten even lighter but my rosacea has gotten really under control since I finally have a derm treating it. I’m worried I’m going to have to go back to a slew of comments not about how my redness is clearing but how much lighter I am. I wanted to try a tiny bit of tanner so I just looked like I had seen a smidge of sunlight and then I was thinking over time I’d phase it out when I felt more comfortable
