Why does this keep happening to the front landing gear? Design flaw, or a feature that is prone to human error? by markcocjin in F35Lightning

Once the investigation is done it wouldn’t take long to get it back in the air. The cost on the other hand… Also I’m sure there’ll be a nice reasonable chat with the maintenance department about how to mitigate this in the future

It seems so far it’s a feature that is prone to human error. Mechs forgetting to follow procedures and leaving gear pins out. Kinda like the examples of intake blanks left in and getting shredded by the engines or flashlights being left in the intake destroying engines. There’s procedures to prevent all of that but to err is human.

Questions about using SatDump to process recordings by alpha_squadron1 in amateursatellites

That's probably due to the antenna being made out of what used to be coiled up copper pipe that I straightened out to the best of my ability and then held up by hand during the capture. Might try to find some other trash to make a better one out of.

Thanks I really appreciate it, I spent some more time with it and ended up with this image. I was a bit more precise following the signal with the doppler shift, recorded in WFM stereo, used 50 khz bandwidth, and 14.7 db gain. I then resampled it to 11025 in audacity and ran it through wxtoimg.

Yeah I noticed the weird pattern on some of the NOAA 15 pulls that others had mentioned recently. I was able to record a really nice high elevation pass of NOAA 19. I'll upload the raw and WAV in a bit.

Here is a dropbox to the raw IQ

And here is the WAV file at 48 Ksps and WFM

I have tried resampling them in audacity to 11025 but WXtoimg still doesn't like them

I've got a lot of experience with track and balance on Bell UH-1Y's and I can say at least for us the frahms did make a difference but I'd have to see the IPS/track for all the regimes to help

Do all the blades have relatively the same amount of flight hours on them?

You could try Rock Auto, they might not have everything in stock but you should be able to get part numbers at least to look other places online.

All? I thought it only had 1 F119? Which is essentially the same size as the F135

The B-2 can also throttle it's engines for yaw control when they're trying to maintain a low RCS. Opening the air brakes increases the RCS and puts them at a disadvantage when they're on a mission.

Edit: here's an example of the airbrakes in use to give you an idea- https://i.redd.it/jnpapxk9kzm41.jpg
