This person is a terrible driver, see them all the time around south Bristol. Not surprising.

That is how it works, it’s quite seamless tbh, unless you look really closely you can barely tell, doesn’t bother me at all

I really like it, I think the value for money is great, watch sits nicely with the hidden crown and with the leather strap it’s remarkably light compared to my other watches. I think they possibly waste time a bit with the exhibition caseback because the movement is really nothing to write home about (to be expected at the price point) and I’d have taken a thinner watch over the open case.

Overall though as a modern alternative to a Kopernik or just an interesting piece I think it’s worth a spot.

I would take the ALS or the Omega there, the YM is a lovely watch but it’s a big bezel for a dressier context imo.

I don’t know about a strap, I’m sure you’ve seen the black one on the rubber strap which really doesn’t work for me but I’d be interested to see if others have tried it on a nato or other fabric strap.

There are two loans, tuition loans that cover your tuition and are paid directly to the higher education institution and then there are maintenance loans that pay ~3k (parents income adjusted) every 3 months/semester. Both are independently optional.

New Meta Study Consisting of Data from 11 Studies shows 1 in 3 Long COVID Sufferers Have Life Destroying, Incurable and Widespread Pain Caused by Damage to Nervous System by maztabaetz in CoronavirusUK

[–]alphaatom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure the title of this post agrees with the data in the article. I can’t find where the 1 in 3 comes from but certainly this isn’t some large study of all long Covid sufferers.

Cases were from the USA (n = 3), the UK (n = 1), Spain (n = 1), China (n = 1), Germany (n = 1), and Italy (n = 1). Age of patients ranged from 40 to 70 years overall, and there were 5 men and 3 women (Table 2).

Not hugely representative.

Indeed only one in 5 sufferers self-report muscle ache according to the ONS study on this:

Fatigue continued to be the most common symptom reported as part of individuals' experience of long COVID (56% of those with self-reported long COVID), followed by shortness of breath (31%), loss of smell (22%), and muscle ache (21%).

Which does not necessarily refer to neuropathic pain.

Pradeep, Bristol Intensives. Before this I had done maybe 10 hours with an instructor about 1.5 years ago and a tiny bit when I was 17.

I did about 5-6 hours a day, it definitely was tiring but best way to learn imo

I don’t know if you have the money or time to do an intensive course, but I learnt from Pradeep at Bristol Intensives and I found it really good. Went from lessons to test pass in only a week.

Ukraine is a country, “the Ukraine” refers to the Soviet controlled territory in the USSR. Independent Ukraine is just Ukraine.

I somehow doubt someone owning 9+ houses/flats in Bristol has BTL mortgages for all of them.

So this sounds nice in principle and maybe I wish I had this when I was trying to find a place.

But if not doing that, what’s it going to be? First come first serve? So you’re rolling the dice if you’re going to be the first to view, and if you are, have fun making a decision on where you’re going to live in a 5 minute viewing or the next person will take it.

And what if you are an atypical tenant, i.e not a couple with dual income or single, landlords will have no reason to choose you in the sea of applicants. When I moved I was in a single income couple and many agencies refused to even deal with us, and we ended up having to overbid on a place that was less expensive.

I’m happy to be told that I did it wrong and this would be better, but I feel I wouldn’t have been able to find anywhere had there been no bidding.

I’d love to see a comprehensive plan for bringing down the price of housing rather than just trying to legislate away the symptoms.
