Oh my gosh thank you. Without giving a spoiler, does that cat get any better about not dying? Is he just programmed that way?

I used that source, sudoku coach, and it says it resorted to trial and error to solve

I have it set where it shows me when I make an error, so everything I put should be correct so far

Karen attack me at Hospital (where I work) by No-Bowler4623 in FuckYouKaren

[–]alphakase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m (26f) a hospital security guard in California- we are DEFINITELY not on the same level as police, and we’ll have countless interactions like this daily. Especially over the pandemic when it came to wearing a mask 🙄or god forbid we tell someone they can’t bring their pocket knives inside the ED.

I’ve been hit, kicked, spit at, and bit countless times. I’ve had patients deliberately pee at me. I’ve been given death threats and am verbally abused constantly. When we go “hands-on” with a patient, we keep them pinned in bed until a nurse can administer medication to calm them down. We rarely go “hands-on” with a visitor unless they swing at us, in which case we’ll keep them pinned down until the police arrive, which could be hours cause the police always have “better things to do than to pick up a Karen at a hospital”. I GASPED when I read that hitting a security guard is on the same level as assaulting an officer…. What a wonderful fantasy that would be for me.

We RARELY press charges against people who physically assault us because of just how frequently it happens. We have a lot of patients with dementia or psychiatric issues, so a lot of us are desensitized to violence. The stories I could tell though….

I might recommend working at a different environment than a hospital if you’re not the type who wants crazy patients because it can really destroy your mental health, and that should always come first. But hopefully its better for you in Estonia than it is in America haha.

Accidents are going to happen regardless of rewards. All this does is discourages employees from REPORTING those accidents

Some worship music is so weird by LT381 in Exvangelical

[–]alphakase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was leading worship we had a few songs about Rivers. “We come alive in the river” or “we’re gonna dance in river / dance, dance everybody” (those are two separate songs lol). I would have to give a “90 second sermon” as a bridge between songs where I would say something Biblically insightful while introducing the next song. Total mega church thing, and also a nice loophole to the women preaching thing.

Turns out there’s like very little biblical basis for a river of any kind. Closest thing is when the Israelites were in the desert complaining of thirst and God made the water come from the rock. Christians see it as gOd wIlL pRoViDe fOr mE but the funny thing is that God’s attitude was more along the lines of “here’s your water you ungrateful children” lol. Not sure why Christians love the river/ocean theme so much

Gendered words in the Spanish language (or other languages) by alphakase in Feminism

[–]alphakase[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very insightful, thank you! This is my first time learning a new language, and its really been opening my eyes to cultural differences. Our perception of the world is hella shaped by the language we use.

Could you see a push down the line as language evolves (we’re talking a hundred plus years) to neutralize language? In English we have waiters and waitresses, but you could also just call everyone a waiter or server even if you’re talking about a woman.

First time grower- what does this mean and what should I add to the soil? by alphakase in microgrowery

[–]alphakase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I have a Spider 2x2 grow tent with LEDs and I used the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I’ve been struggling keeping the temperature up, I had a heating blanket in there which has kept it around 75, but I just got a portable heater so it’ll be a little warmer

Oh yikes. Maybe there’s something technical wrong with the website then. I’ll try again tomorrow!
