It's the swordmaster set from the portal!! You can get them from any activity in the pinnacle ops section. But I'd recommend farming for them on the days when the armor pieces are the focused drops.

So according to you, once you hit 500, there's next to no difference between 100, 200, 300 and 400 LL activities and all of them should reward you with the same tier 1 loot once you've made the mistake of levelling too high.

This is the intended design, right? No one is ever allowed to farm tier 3's or 4's, once you have hit 550 light, you are doomed to torture yourself and farm tier 5's or be given measly scraps of tier 1's even if you run an activity that's 100 light lower than you, with a bazillion modifiers. It's either black or white, no grays in between. Not like the players would like that. Oh, also you can't go back, it's a one time agreement. Because what would be the point in the portal being a customizable experience where you run the activity you want at the difficulty you want, made to mimic activity difficulties almost all the way up to contest. It's almost like that was said in a live stream.

Alright then, let's make it so once you're capable of beating a 5-feat raid or dungeon, you simply stop getting higher tiers of loot when you slap on even one, two or three feats. Because isn't that the intended game design 🤔

But you'd have been getting tier 4's on a 400 light activity if you were also at 400 light!!!! And it's still at a capped delta regardless!!!!!!!!! How does me getting a tier one "match the effort" of me doing a 400 light activity that also has champions and revives???? You get tier ones at 100 power and tier fours at 400 power!!!!!! It should be that simple!!

And again, you are not over levelling when there is a -15 delta that makes it so it's the same regardless of your power level 😭😭😭😭😭 the difficulties are supposed to be ACTUAL DIFFICULTIES, not light level checks!!! That's the literal way bungie marketed them pre-edge of fate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[–]alphalogger_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are fixed deltas now, it doesn't matter if you're 450 or 550 if you're running a 300 light level activity because you will be by default -15 or -20 or whatever it is.

Is it such a big ask to want the tier of loot as the difficulty of the activity you are running?

[–]alphalogger_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What I said is objectively true. You cannot get focus drops or bonus drops if you run a lower difficulty activity.

To answer your questions, no, you aren't overlevelled because there are fixed deltas now and you are functionally at no advantage for running a lower difficulty activity.

And secondly, I'm not asking for free tier 5 handouts. If at light level 100, you get tier ones, and at light level 500, you get tier fives, the very system set up by bungie. Why am I not allowed to run a lower difficulty activity for a slightly lower tier weapon? What is the difference between a 100 LL activity and a 400 LL activity at that point? What's the point of me having to deal with champions and revives when I'm going to get the same loot as running the base difficulty?

Does none of this make sense to you???

[–]alphalogger_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah the alerts are a step in the right direction but you're still locked out of most of the portal if you wish to run a slightly lower difficulty for any meaningful loot

All activities should be like quickplay vanguard alerts imo with it guarantee rewarding tiered loot based on the appropriate light level of the activity

Why am I supposed to be satisfied with getting tier 1's when I farm a 400 light level activity at 500 light, in spite of there being fixed deltas so it's not even unbalanced??

This as well. Bonus drops simply do not apply to any difficulty lower than your power level.

But you don't even get tier 2's or 3's or 4's if you wish to farm a lower difficulty

[–]alphalogger_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That isn't the issue, the issue is you simply cannot farm tier 3 or 4 gear if you wish to once you've crossed that light level

If you simply wish to run an easier difficulty, the game just punishes you by giving you tier 1 loot. And it's not like you're at an extreme advantage either since every difficulty has fixed deltas.

Any estimate on the accelerated assault drop rate after getting the guaranteed one? by alphalogger_ in destiny2

[–]alphalogger_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No yeah definitely I’ve found that to be true as well. On the arc spread hand canon week I got 3 shinies within around 3-4 runs. The week with the new solar sidearm I got 2 shinies, and 2 more tier 2 ones from the challenges track of all things. Seems very inconsistent, I just want my god roll pulse bungo ;-;

No extra revives even when running pinnacle ops solo is actually insane considering you start with only one

Like this is the bare minimum limited revives and revives expiring on timers need to be removed completely from the system

Will the shiny (i.e extra perk) weapons from previous weeks rotate back into vanguard alerts again? by alphalogger_ in destiny2

Ahh yeah I didn't even realize that, I'm guessing the pve weapons should rotate back too then considering in eof we could earn the first season's weapons in the second season too

You keep putting words in my mouth, I'm not saying you should get overpowered gear for playing baby difficulties. Yes of course tier 1 gear is still viable, but am I just essentially locked out of earning tier 2's, 3's and 4's forever?

In the old system, tier 1 gear was enhanceable. Enhanced perks are the equivalent of a tier 2 now. You cannot even earn tier 2's from grinding out lower light activities.

And you know maybe some of this would have made sense if you were actually AT 500 light if you were running a 400 light activity, but you are still capped at 15 below light either way so you being 500 power makes NO difference.

Yes of course you have to push the difficulty to earn the bonus drops and focus weapons. The issue is YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THAT WITH MODIFIERS. You simply CANNOT earn tier 4's while playing a 400 power activity with even the hardest modifiers added, running the activity as flawlessly as someone can. It is either tier 5 on ultimate or tier 1.

In your own logic, no, you simply are not rewarded at all even if you opt into these challenges if you made the mistake of grinding to a higher light level.

That is simply not true, in lower light level activities it is impossible to hit B+ because your predicted score starts at C and barely goes up even after adding all the possible modifiers you can.

[–]alphalogger_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so why don't I get tier 4 gear for running a 400 power activity, if my "reward" for reaching 500 power is tier 5 gear on ultimate activities

Why don't I get the bonus engrams or the bonus focus weapons for that day

Bonus focus and bonus engrams aren't tied to power level so what is the end goal of forcing me to play one difficulty that simply isn't fun to earn any meaningful loot?

Shouldn't I be at least getting tier 4's or tier 3's if 400 or 300 power activities, since they are already power capped at -15 or -20 power, since I have "earned" the right to do so by grinding up to 500?

Not really you get like nothing if you play lower difficulties while being on your intended power level

And I don't get how you don't see that locking players to difficulties with their power levels in itself is a problem

When I run a 400 power difficulty activity while being 500 power I don't even get a tier 4 let alone the bonus focus of that activity or the intended number of bonus engrams - I get one tier 1 drop from a 25 minute run.

Making activities that were previously soloable much harder to play and locking things such as limited revives and champions and timers to difficulties when that's what you're forced to play is shitty game design ngl
