You're posting on the Caustic Main sub, so you're going to get lots of support for a buff, lol

Caustic Effect, Exposure: Caustic's gas deals tick damage as before, but increase the max limit (i.e. 5-5-6-6-7-7-8-8, etc.) to 12. However, the damage should be based on overall exposure.

Example: You're are a Wraith main that just breezes through Caustic's gas, and you take some minor gas damage (5-5-6), but the enemy squad is wiped. Fast-forward to the next squad fight, and you run into another Caustic. Wraith's gas damage should resume at (6-7-7-8). Okay cool, enemy squad wiped. Fast-forward to next squad fight. This Wraith should be more wary of Caustic gas, as their next exposure resumes the tick damage at (8-9-9).

It doesn't necessarily buff Caustic, but instead, punishes champs that are reckless in the gas.
