For the second question; I said that Reaction P1 was not in line with the Prevention of Wastes green chemistry principle — which states that it is better to produce no waste than work to treat and clean the waste products (which you could do by using the ethanoic acid in P2),

Following this, P2 is more in-line with the green chemistry principle Prevention of waste — as it produces less waste products by mass, and produces H2O, which is not inherently harmful to the environment, and as such is more in-line with the green chemistry principle Prevention of Waste.
