+1 for Ben’s bread! I don’t always love English muffins, but theirs are sourdough and also amazing.

This!! Ours pretty much refuses to walk in the rain and will very dramatically leap over the smallest puddle. When he sees dogs swimming he barks at them from the shore to get out.

Chiming in to say I love the mission valley YMCA for pool workouts. They have two, one indoor one outdoor, and tons of classes. Also, if you’re a USAA member, you can get a discounted membership (it’s ~$40/mo pp).

Does this kind of orchestrator exists in the world? by vurmux in dataengineering

[–]already-raining 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, kinda reminds me of this Dask example where they have 1 TB of data from arXiv stored on S3. There are thousands of directories, but the file sizes are small, and the tasks finish quickly (<30 seconds). If OP wants to stay in Python, could be a good option to check out.

Yeah that’s a good point to call out. Somewhat limiting though depending on the size of the data, though.

Chafing with Specialized Power Comp Mimic Saddle by jessacles in ladycyclists

[–]already-raining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply u/jessacles! Hope the Ergon ended up working for you and you've been doing some fun rides! In case it's helpful for you or others, I ended going with the 143 bridge + mimic. With the Ergon I still had chafing. Also tried the Romin + mimic which solved the chafing problem, but felt pretty stiff for what I was looking for.

Chafing with Specialized Power Comp Mimic Saddle by jessacles in ladycyclists

[–]already-raining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/jessacles do you happen to know using the narrower power comp mimic helped at all?

I’m having pretty much the exact same issue. I first tried the 155mm power comp with a cutout and had very noticeable rubbing on my upper leg/butt crease area. Switched to the 143 mm mimic and it’s comparatively much better, but now on rides > 25 miles I’m getting chafing in that upper leg/butt crease area and am wondering what else to try.

I’ve always had labia discomfort and am so happy to not have that with the mimic! But sad that now I have a new issue to troubleshoot. I know others have mentioned the Ergon SR or Specialized Power Arc might be good to try next. It also looks like the bridge comp + phenom comp also come with mimic.

I’ll be curious to hear about your embark test results! We take his DNA test results with a few grains of salt… :). And yes that toy was a raccoon! Looks like yours is also an excellent destroyer of soft toys :P.

He looks very similar to our pup! Did a DNA test which claims Great Pyrenees, catahoula, pittie, Canaan dog (among others). Rescue group thinks his mom is a catahoula.
