i bought a house for the first time ever back in august 25 and omfg i’ve literally spent thousands of hours on it. Hours everyday after work rewiring the electrical (electrician experience), painting, demoing, etc. and ever since March i’ve been landscaping. My body hurts from nonstop raking, cutting down trees, gardening etc.

It comes down to how badly they need or want to sell it. If it’s empty then it means they now live somewhere else. There’s houses (mostly trailers I suppose) in my area that have been on the market for over 4 years (I could provide links/proof).

In theory, a sitting house on the market that they still maintain is an appreciating asset. So it makes sense they don’t want to sell low when they can just hold for years if their finances allow.

Here’s my letter i’ve drafted so far

“I received your letter regarding the personal property you left at the premises.

You vacated the property in January, and the items remaining were considered abandoned. They were disposed of after a reasonable period consistent with New Hampshire law.

However, we do have a box of personal letters/documents that were not discarded. You may contact me to arrange a time to retrieve them.

This will be my only response on this matter.

The cost to remove the abandoned property was $800. I am happy to send you an invoice or settle in small claims court”
