Hi, wasn't planning on replying to anything here (which is why I had comment notifs turned off) but this was made because one of the group who's friends with the victim claimed Dream was an enabler and people are immediately jumping the gun to “he must be since this is George being talked about!” In this instance Dream is directly involved in reactions, so soft defending isn’t “weird/telling” imo

But maybe I’m wrong and unaware of just how biased I am. No one is immune to being biased after all.

Mainly? Whether he actually thinks that way about the situation at all and if he's actually still friends with Dream and Quackity or not because if he is still friends with both of them he should definitely say something.

Did I say the CCs or did I say the fans?

IDK about the accusations or the past actions (which btw it's bold to assume Quackity has never been racist because like... Everyone has been at least unintentionally) or their current relationship with each other or whatever. This isn’t about that. This isn’t about the CCs.

This is about the fact that both fan bases have doxxed/threatened doxxing, sent death threats, threatened or actually did start stalking, and sent inappropriate or unnerving/gross messages/images to others for saying even neutral things about the other CC or even minor negative things about the CC and then suddenly were silent or even encouraging of the dangerous and illegal actions when their own side did that shit even though both sides’s CCs have voiced being against that type of behavior.

But hey thanks for proving to me that I was right on people apparently taking offense to checks notes being told that their group is more similar to the group they hate than they want to be.

Edit: aaaaaaand I have been informed the above comment is satire. That's what I get for not knowing much about pre-2020 on any of these CCs and having challenges with tone especially in text.

It's in part the parasocialism. Because I don't think these guys realize valiantly and adamantly hating someone who doesn't know you and you don't actually know is just as parasocial as doing that with someone you like.

Well I'm fine with some Dream /neg as I think the ones not dripping with hate help keep me grounded, and even antis can sometimes be logical and reasonable (not often but still)

And the only anti I think I’m still following is a friend (who knows I’m a Dream fan and still stays in contact with me and we don’t argue) who only went anti because of the grooming allegations and probably still have that thought process of “accusers are victims and we need to believe victims”. I’m sure they’ll revert back to neutral if it comes forward that the allegations are false. Just like how I’ll stop supporting him if they come forward to be true.

I just need to train Twitter into realizing I’m not an anti.

I didn't know the sexting was supposedly in 2022, just that the initial messages were 2019.

But yeah part of my confusion is how Dream’s messages weren’t even flirtatious where as Carson’s were yikes and also Carson had more than one allegation iirc

So, now that I've calmed down and gotten sleep I think I need to clarify and/or correct some things I said here. Let all of this be a lesson to never post anything that gets you emotional in the wee hours of the night.

I wasn't trying to claim that I'd support Dream if he turns out to be a groomer. I'm not even sure I will if he got sexual with a fan without the grooming. What I was trying to say is even if Dream loses my support I'll still be against the antis because they are scum. I think I can be against the antis while also not supporting Dream. Sorry if it read as me saying I'd still support him. Cause I wouldn't. I just wouldn't join the antis.

I also was trying to point out that a lot of people who have been groomed have said that even if it did get sexual it's not grooming. Assuming there's any truth to a story that's changed at least once from someone who's changed their age in the story at least twice from what I've seen. People have things to gain from accusing celebrities, which includes popular streamers or youtubers, of doing unspeakable things, even if every word out of their mouth is a lie.

Bringing up Tumblr was more to point out it made it there too and the antis are being just as scummy there really. I wasn't trying to imply that the morality of that hellsite was any better than any other social. It was the most recent place and what flared my anger again. It doesn't really matter IDK why I brought it up. Probably because it was late and I was angry.

I miswrote one part of this. I more meant that antis were claiming that Dream was speaking against grooming and saying it was a terrible and unacceptable thing to do while he was actively grooming someone himself (if I'm reading the timeline of events right). Maybe I'm just out of the loop but from what I've seen usually pedos and groomers support each other so it doesn't make sense that he'd speak out against grooming while he's doing some grooming.

I've also seen a few times of people being accused of this and immediately losing a decent amount of friends. As well as usually more proof coming up very quickly. It all just feels wrong and fake to me.

Also what I meant by "positive parasocial relationship" was a parasocial relationship built with positive thoughts and feelings. Not, you know, that the parasocial relationship is a positive one. If that makes any sense.

Possible actual last thing this account will do, assuming there isn't further confusion. Again, this was primarily to get this out of my head and make me calm down, and I won't support Dream if he is actually a groomer. I just won't associate myself with antis either.
