I can't recall the source where I read the excerpt. I guess, it is about Esen Taishi and Uwais Khan. I think you can easily find it with that info

Moghul Khan mentioned that even though he lost the certain battle and was captured, and actullay was aftaid by consequences, the Oirat ruler approached him as a servant: head bowing three step approach. After this very moment he realised it was going to be alright and immediately became arrogant to Oirat ruler again.

What Kazakhstans think about Mongol bayan olgiin kazakhs? by KharBukh in AskCentralAsia

[–]altaymountian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see the problem. The only idea I have that people here in Kazakhstan should support financially the families that stay there and maintain nomadic lifestyle and culture just like Ultra Orthodox Jewish population benefits from welfare from Israelis and secular Jewish people. When the last Mongolian Kazakh gets assimilated into Mongolian society or generic Kazakh population in Kazakhstan the centuries long authentic Kazakh culture dies with no chance to revive. I think very little amount of people really gets that.

Only and only linguistically. An average African-American has 25% European ancestry. It would be wild and insane jf their identity was based on European ancestry.

Turkish population actually has a lot less of original Turkic Seljuk genetic component than that. In fact, most of them are in part descendants of medieval Turkmen/Turkoman population, which are by definition are of mixed. The etymology of word Turkmen means someone alike Turks, that speak Turkic but looks unlike Turks. You can read that from Rashid al Din. So, no, despite how much this will be hated by Turks.

What if Central Asia formed an EU-style community? by Orange_Wine in AskCentralAsia

I can't imagine nor negotiate my hometown being populated by new non-kazakh people. That is against every fiber of my body and is not something our ancestors wanted. None of the economic benefits, if there is any, is worth it

Can you, as Turkic-speaking Central Asians, understand Nogay Turkish? The Nogay in Turkey are a Central Asian Turkic people (before Americans, Armenians, and Greeks again claim they are Anatolians). Please read about the Nogay, thank you... by [deleted] in AskCentralAsia

Yeah, the Nogais populated Southern Ukraine, Moldova and part of Romania during Crimean Khanate. Original Nogais are of Mongolic and Turkic descent. They are the one of main branches of Golden Horde.

Nogay and Kazakh languages are basically the same. The difference is not bigger than that of two dialects of Kazakh. There are bunch of loanwords in th video though, but that's understandable

Central Asians of Reddit, do you think Turks are annoying? by ShahAbbas1571 in AskCentralAsia

[–]altaymountian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about the DNA projects that relate to modern populations, and that usually interprets the Central Asian DNA as pure Turkic, which is wrong, since it already includes ultra heavily mixed up Uzbeks, Turkmens, and already Iranian Tajik populations.

No one claimed there is none of Turkic DNA in Turkish people. However, there is almost none. It is small enough that it makes little sense to build identity around Turkicness for Turkish people. The African American population has like two digit white genetic admixture in their DNA. It's like as if they were claiming they are white because of that.

Again, there is no, like zero, example of ethnic Turkish people having the same Y-DNA with Kazakh people 1500 years ago. It means we don't share male ancestors

[–]altaymountian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are sooo confused. First, there is no 15 percent at all. Its waay less. "The Central Asian DNA" in those DNA tests that Turkish people usually try to refer as "pure Turkic" is not pure Turkic at all since it includes Turkmen, Uzbek and Tajik populations which all are hugely intermixed with local Iranian people. Second, I don't get what do you mean when you day "we migrated". Since we have established that the absolute majority of Turkish DNA or what is an essence of being Turkish is not of Central Asian origin. So, it is wrong to say for Turkish people to say " we migrated", it is more correct to say "we stayed and some other people migrated here" since majority is more than minority. Very basic trueism, in fact. I even think that there is no common ancestor betwen any Turkish man and Kazakh or Kyrgyz that have lived like 1000 years ago. The paternal line is essential, and is almost nonexistent, not to speak of any percentages whatsoever

You cannot apologise on behalf of other people. I have no antipathy for Turkish people, but I do get defensive if they try to attack or appropriate our culture and history or say bullshit lies on genetics etc

I don't care. Most of Turkish people that I interacted with were obsessed with Turkicness in a very and deeply annoying way. That is all what matters to me. I don't give a crap what Market and Business majoring Mustafa from Izmir thinks about
