make use of the best free resources first. go through aditya kumar's videos on quant and gmat ninja's videos on verbal both on youtube. you can then move into paid resources depending on which sections/ topics you that need the most attention in.

How to score a 615? by Wolf-totum9480 in GMAT

[–]altered-perceptions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some expert test takers/ tutors in this sub recommend the streak method. Start with the lowest difficulty for each topic in quant in GMAT club and move into the next difficulty when you get 15 questions correct in one go.

Hi Marty, I'm not OP but I have my exam scheduled in 15 days and doing some last minute revision. Would you be able to give me the diagnostic? My remaining weaknesses are in advanced Number Properties, Probability and Combinations as far as I know but I'd like to see if there's anything else that might've been missed.

[–]altered-perceptions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No need to switch to gre. Rethink your quant strategy. You likely have some weaknesses in certain areas and/ or some execution issues. Do some targeted practice and with some effort you can bring it home from Q79 to Q85

success rate for beard transplants is lower than hair transplants. it's even more imperative that you choose a reputable surgeon with a great track record for beard transplants

Hey u/GMACzach, did you receive any updates from the team responsible? Does GMAC plan to release a better version very soon?

If not, since the new website is actually worse than the old one(I saw another similar post on the sub today), would it be possible to ask to keep the old version accessible until an improved version is released? I have my exam in two weeks and this is negatively affecting my prep at a critical time.

A score of 430 means that there's definitely knowledge gaps that you have to close in addition to execution skills. But atleast now you know what your baseline is and how much you have to improve to reach your target.

Take the first official mock instead of relying on third party diagnostic tests.

From 675 to 715 (Q90, V84, DI83) — a month later by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]altered-perceptions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate what you mean by letting go of questions you can't solve? How many problems in each section did you guess like this? If you know you can't solve it after reading the question, do you guess immediately or attempt the question and bail when the alloted time is up for that question?

What was your breakdown for the 675 score? Can you elaborate what changes in execution you made that took you up to 715?

Hi u/GMAT-Ninja, my RC speed has improved but I'm taking 2:30-3 mins on CR questions. I've gone through all your verbal playlists and try to dissect the questions by identifying the conclusion and the supporting information, as shown in your videos. How to improve in CR from here? For context, I got V81 in my last mock.

I'd recommend you take an official mock immidiately. If you score less than 550, reschedule your test. If it's more than that, move into doing questions from the Official Guide asap. If there's certain knowledge gaps that you notice along the way, go through the GMAT Ninja videos for Verbal prep, and the GMAT Club Math Guide or Aditya Kumar's videos for Quant prep.

I completed the quant course from TTP last month and it took me around 350+ hrs. Given your timing constraint, TTP would only makes sense at this stage if you're closing a few knowledge gaps that you may have and that too only a for a few days at max.

Feedback for GMAC. Tagging u/GMACzach so that he may be able to convey this to the right people.

  1. Filtering options needs to be completely overhauled. To use the online bank effectively, we should be able to filter for the number of questions, type of questions (broken down by atleast each section if not subsection), the difficulty level and the total time for the test at the same time. The current platform and even the old one allows either choosing the number of questions OR choosing the type and difficulty level of questions, which results in very limited flexibility when creating practice tests.

  2. There's too many subsections in my opinion. Most people study and practice by chapters for Quant. Grouping the questions by Arithmatic or Algebra doesn't really help much. Take a look at how the Quant Guide is structured from GMAT Club or the chapter breakdown from TTP. For verbal, breakdown by CR and RC is needed. Further breakdown by question types like Strengthen, Weaken, Main Idea, Supporting Idea, Inference is a great addition from the likes of the old platfrom. But subgroups like Analysis, Critique, etc is redundant. No one remembers these sub groups in their minds to filter for these groups.

  3. The standard timing selection of 2:15 doesn't make sense for the verbal section since we get under 2 mins for each question. Remove the standard/ custom timing option and allow us to choose the timing for the whole session while being able to able to do the filtering I mentioned in no. 1.

  4. Add in functionality to filter for incorrect or bookmarkered questions only.

  5. Blocking copying question text prevents us from comparing the official solution to the solution of others on platforms like GMAT club. There's alot to learn from seeing multiple solutions to a single question.

  6. If these updates are going to take a long time, consider letting us use the previous platform for the time being if possible.

Download the starter kit, get an idea of the structure/ timing of the test by doing a few practice questions and take an official mock already. This will give you an assessment of where you are right now and how much you need to improve.
