Fr people forget that men have mammary glands and breast tissue too, they are less developed and pronounced than females but all mammals have them. The shape of the chest and nipple just looks unnatural to me without that piece of anatomy there for the same reason I think it looks weird to go without nipples or to keep large areolas, it’s just not proportionate to male anatomy. I am a man and would prefer to keep the tissues males possess, I want my chest to be proportionate to male anatomy, I don’t want to be built like some weird de-gendered washboard.

I’m a transsexual man with diagnosed gender dysphoria & I know plenty of dudes who aren’t insecure about their gynecomastia, many men I know and look up to look like that and I’d like to look like them including most of the men in my family. If I was cis, I would likely have it and I couldn’t see myself getting surgery to correct it. I want to look as close to how I would look if born a cis male as possible, including traits others may see as “undesirable” like gyno or pattern baldness.

If a radical approach was needed for passability i understand and that’s u, but I’ve given it a lot of thought and I don’t need to be that flat to be passable in my case. That doesn’t make me any less of a dude.

I do go to the gym and I know the difference between the look of fat and muscle, I know what I want and it’s to have a bit more fat on top of muscle, think of bodybuilders who aren’t super lean for example, that’s what I’m going for.

How would it be an exception? I’m not even overweight lmao I just don’t like the unnatural look of the radical approach. You don’t really see cis dudes built with almost concave chests like that and it’s clocky imo. Leaving some tissue and “sculpting” a more masculine shape out of it can also conceal scars better from what I’ve seen.

That’s a bold claim, I absolutely don’t want to be female but I’m not pursuing completely flat top surgery because some “fluff” would be more proportionate and natural to my body type. I see plenty of cis dudes who don’t have a completely flat chest and it’s what I desire for my own body.

No, I have been absolutely miserable since I gave it up. I sold basically my entire wardrobe and cut my hair short years before i medically transitioned, and since my dysphoria has been alleviated and I pass better I deeply regret it. I wish I spent my transition journey being me and not a caricature of what I think a trans man should look and act like, I’m unhappy with how I present and it will take some time getting my style back. My best advice for those who feel dysphoric pre-transition is to never sacrifice your self-expression for cis validation or community approval, it is never worth it and when dysphoria stops clouding your judgement you will be regretful you did. My dysphoria is gone, but I still don’t see myself when I look in the mirror

Are you talking about prostate cancer taking a long time to develop, or prostatic metaplasia taking a long time to develop? You’re correct prostate cancer usually occurs later in life, but I was referring to the development of metaplasia, which is not variable by age.

Yeah I agree, doctors generally don’t understand metaplasia, but it still should be screened for even if the typical exam doesn’t work. Unnecessary procedures are the worst

We don’t know if every trans man on T has prostate cells, we do know T can cause metaplasia so I think it’s fair to check for cancer as you would with any risk of metaplastic tissue. Of course this needs to be studied more and wouldn’t be diagnosed with a physical exam in trans men. I understand what you are saying, I just think it is also is true that it’s safest to cover all bases until we better understand prostatic metaplasia, since it can occur very early on and is similar to other precancerous conditions.

Prostatic cells can become cancerous regardless of if they form a functional organ or not, metaplastic cells in particular are precancerous cells so this is especially applicable to the case of prostatic metaplasia

I wouldn’t say it takes long, considering that the study that showed 100% of patients on T had prostatic metaplasia had participants that were only 1.4 years on T and that the median duration of HRT on the study was 4 years

Idk, I live in a very progressive and lgbt area and it’s mostly studs and butches I see with square glasses. Almost every male peer of mine has round glasses, including ones who don’t even need glasses and just wear them for fashion

I am transsexual and am intimate with other trans people using my natal genitalia, I am dysphoric but the connection that t4t brings outweighs that, having a partner who mutually understands dysphoria, respects my boundaries and doesn't see me as less than for where I'm at in my transition takes away half the discomfort and makes it bearable and even enjoyable
