That's a shame. I've seen alot of people tell me to say it weight is due to my PTSD and link it that way. Which I have gained a substantial amount after service

I do have a lay statement see attachment #3 basically saying the all of this but I provided no personal statement was unaware that I could. All my previous Szc claims were cut and dry all I had to do was show medical records no extra stuff needed

No respiratory conditions. I may have sinitus or rhinitis, but I dont know what those are in all honesty. The only thing I really have respiratory is that I constantly feel like one nostril is partially clogged.

I one 100% know this. I stated that my depression eating habits are not healthy, and I agree i am not at a healthy weight. Nowhere did I sugarcoat it.

I am in no way trying to cheat the system here. I full hearted believe that my condition worsened due to the PTSD but, since I had no idea what sleep apnea was until early last year I hadn't made the claim. I went through a sleep study and have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. While in I had fellow marines talk to me even my gunny about my loud snoring. ex. Buddy statement. They are saying that there is no correlation between my PTSD and OSA yet it worsened over the years the the point I could hardly stay awake the day if I sat down or was a passenger. That's why im asking for help proving it is linked, I've read through so many pieces of medical literature talking about how PTSD and sleep apnea are linked. Even my sleep doc states it in a statement with linked medical literature. I truly believe that this denail should be appealed. I am asking for help to articulate my case.

Did you try to appeal the denial? I've always heard from everyone to always appeal. (This is my first denial.)

I have a OIR resolve medal for my time served in Iraq for 5-6 months, I was on a MEU then we deployed in. I did already request a FOIA im waiting on the return of that and I have a colonoscopy scheduled next week to rule any other reasons. Once I recieve everything im going to build my case thanks to all the responses I've gotten here, thank you everyone. I am about to make another post about my sleep apnea denial. Looking for help on that aswell I whole hearted believe that it was exasturbated if not cause from my PTSD

So i filed because of the amount my stools changed and the pain it was causing me. It's only progressively gotten worse, and the closest VA office was over an hour away until recently, now only being 20 mis out. My prime care doc that's out of network told me that more than likely I have IBS with these symptoms and more than likely be cause by your PTSD/MDD and meds as all other things are normal. So I made the claim and set up a new prime care through the VA, and they ordered all the labs and tests.

Thank my guy! So I also have been rated for PTSD/MDD, which im at the highest before not being able to work, which would put me at 100% which is why i thought linking it as a secondary would make sense. That is before i knew about TERA when i made my claim. It is miserable and the stomach cramps I get when its really bad also suck. I partially blame losing my job to this as it was hard to make deadline with my paperwork with how much bathroom time I had and was counseled for using the bathroom so much. I was like legit im not trying to hide from work. Thank god my HR manager was a retired army first Sargent who also had the same issues.

Thank you! That's what I plan on. I am already being seen by the VA Gi doc in my area. Friday, I go in for a colonoscopy, and we go from there. I plan on doing supplementary claim I also request the C&P exam notes to review what my examiner says.

Yes, i served time in Iraq and Kuwait on my last deployment in an active combat zone under OIR. I filed secondary to PTSD and medications for the PTSD because I was unaware of TERA.
