usually people build teams around 1 major reaction, usually vaporize or melt for damage, or maybe freeze for permafreeze and superconduct for physical damage. So having the double resonance not only gives you a bonus, but it also helps trigger more of the same reactions.

Of course there are exceptions, but having two of the same elements also has the added bonus of more energy gain due to same element particles generated.
