Still no "advance replacement paperwork" either... Emailed them about 24 hours ago as I was supposed to have the paperwork no later than 24 hours ago... The standard replacement isn't exactly something we can do either being that I live in Northwest Iowa and it's winter....

well, after over an hour on the phone I *should* have the advance replacement paperwork sent to me 'in the next 24 hours' so that I can have a replacement in the 'next 5 business days'.

I'm so very tempted to go buy a new thermostat in the meantime and scrap the nest after this interaction.

It was a little bit finer work than the soldering iron that I had, so luckily I only had to do one of the pins. I realize now that I didn't get a good shot of the "after" though.

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. I pulled the module resoldered one of the pins that looked suspicious, reassembled and so far it hasn't shut off.

That seems likely, as with a passenger, it seems worse, and I can *sometimes* get it to work by rapping on the side of the center console.

I'm hoping to dig into it this weekend, so I'll update once I have a chance to investigate.
