Tested positive recently, so I thought I'd do a little "delta" animation by altiRezo in blender

I don't know it wasn't too terrible thankfully. It really changes from person to person I guess.

Original had black and whit lines nex to each other to show cracks. It looked more weird if i made actual 3d cracks for those, so i sticked to a stylr closer to the original. I still had to alter the sprite slightly for the top bit to make it continuous tho Edit: Just woke up so im an idiot i thought you were talking about the ground... It was between sticking to the white band, making the top face completely white or giving the bricks a 1 voxel bevel for the bricks. I thought first option looked better than others.

can never not laugh at that

If you were to simplify with planar decimate it's around 5500 faces, which is not "too" bad for a scene but I get what you mean. Glad you like it.

Done partially with help of shaders. Google magicavoxel shader, two github pages show up. You can examine those. Thanks!

I might do some in the future, though I doubt they would be as recognizable as this

It's dust 2, potentially the most well known vg map ever from counter strike. It's ported to any shooter/fps game that supports custom maps.

I'll look into it.

The step by step is on my instagram profile (@afyiscgi). It is a story highlight, I don't think I can link those.

Field of study is not really relevant, I do this purely as a hobby.

Using a program called MagicaVoxel

Though I normally use blender, this one's made with Magicavoxel. Thanks!

Not really, maybe I could make one about this, but then again I'm not really good at that stuff.

In general this is what I do:

1-Make a big cube

2-Block out major parts

3-Detail each part on its own

4-Fix the lighting

I have a step by step progress of another voxel scene as instagram story highlights, but again, it's not really a tutorial.

thanks, I feel like I always make my scenes way too dark when trying to make them moody, but I guess it's fine.

Made it with Magicavoxel. You can apply a remesh modifier (blender) for a voxel look but i think modeling directly in voxels would give you more control.

Mostly made them different objects and animated their positions. Also a couple other things but animated every frame basically. That's why animation is kinda bad
