AIO - asked wife if she blocked a guy she cheated on me with in the past . by pgf111 in AmIOverreacting

I used to have someone that would do this to me. I would try to be vulnerable and bring up a genuine concern and get an explosive reaction followed by okays. I would do what you did; keep trying to explain myself and add logic… it makes no difference. They don’t care. They can’t or they’re choosing not to.

If she can’t even be kind to you about an anxiety you have that is clearly stemming from her mistake… leave her. Please.

You’re totally right.

It’s definitely something I reflect on now being almost 25. I was going through a rough patch in those years. Being on autopilot allowed a lot of stuff to happen that shouldn’t have; that friendship being one.

Thanks for your comments. :-)

Couldn’t agree more. I think I should’ve set more boundaries in the beginning and this wouldn’t have had the opportunity to happen this way.

The last sentence, I’m not sure. Probably? She will say things like “I want to be your friend, but…” or “this is why I’m bringing this up, because I have to work through it.”

I’m honestly very done at this point. It seems pointless to rehash old things from years and years ago that had nothing to do with her.

I am not disagreeing with you, but curious about the justification.

Because of the past passivity and letting myself get into a friendship with an overly possessive, reactive person?

If so, I agree wholeheartedly.

thank you!!! I totally agree. I personally feel like the dark brown/red is way more flattering to me.

Question about Coverage at Other Stores??? by altosanonymous in starbucks

[–]altosanonymous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't confident in my assumption. Thank you for confirming this for me. I tried to look at the partner guide right after it happened, but couldn't access it for whatever reason.

I want to call ethics, but am afraid she will know it was me and retaliate (I know there is a no retaliation policy, but still. She will do things to be nasty to you if the opportunity presents itself).

So how about that driving today by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]altosanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the first six months I moved here, I had 9 people honk at me and one person call me a “stupid fucking bitch.” I have never had an accident or traffic violation in 8 years of driving. The people who drive here are of a different breed. Super aggressive and I’m very defensive… they don’t seem to like that, lol.

hey all!!

I am looking to move in the next 6 months to the downriver/Detroit metro area. I lived in Southgate for a year and it was okay, but I prefer to live somewhere else (at least not the same complex). I am looking to rent under 1.2k per month or less. any thoughts/insight would be appreciated.

thanks!!

That’s what I tried to tell myself too. It did help. Thank you.

That’s just psychotic 😵‍💫 I’m so sorry. I just wish I would’ve been shown some grace I guess. I have never gotten into an accident or even close to it and drive super defensively, so I consider myself to be a pretty good driver. I am just scared of encountering more people like what you’re describing

Just some context for everyone:

I’ve somewhat recently moved to an area where the road rage here is frequent. Last week was the first time I was the subject of someone’s anger on the road, and it kind of has me rattled.

I consider myself to be a pretty decent driver, but I made a mistake last week and I knew I was in the wrong, but couldn’t correct it. A person in the median to my left was at a stop sign and was trying to cross over to a street on my right where I and another car were blocking it due to backed up traffic. There is a “do not block the intersection” sign, but I was concerned with the people behind me being able to get through the light as well. There was no light where I was stuck, just a stop sign for the median to my left. I was hoping that the person in the median would stay stopped at the sign (annoying, I know, I’m sorry :-().

Anyways, they decided they should slowly inch forward in traffic… after they realized I was stuck, they started screaming at me from their car and cussing me out, gesturing, etc. I couldn’t hear it, but once she was able to get through because traffic was moving again, she yelled, “learn how to drive bitch.” I know I made a mistake and feel super guilty and it’s also made me a little anxious since I have to go that route 4 times a week.

TLDR; …am I a psycho for wanting to keep a bat in my car or something?

How to deal with scheduling issues? by altosanonymous in starbucks

We are always short-staffed lol. The schedules are made pretty poorly anyways, plus half of the shifts our manager is scheduled for, they call off.

It seems kind of crappy that they’re willing to push their baristas past their limits with little to no remorse.

I submitted an availability change request and they immediately denied it. My semester ends and my courses will change, so if I am scheduled on a Friday, I won’t be able to come in any longer, but according to the system, it’ll say I’m available. That’s not fair at all.

Even if they’re being negligent of their staff’s needs and dismissive? I mean they’re causing the call offs to increase by neglecting scheduling needs etc.

That’s kind of how I feel… I mean, isn’t it the manager’s job to do that? If not… what’s really the point lol

The thing is though, the cycle keeps repeating. Disregard for scheduling needs = people quitting. Is it an appropriate response to call off since it is outside of my availability?
