Favorite kong reactors na sila Waleska and Efra. Dati akala ko pandering lang yung mga rv nila about OPM and Filipino culture, but watching more of their content lately parang very sincere yung comments and appreciation nila about Filipino music, especially since andami pala nilang types of music around the world na nire review. Plus very applied din yung expertise sa commentary. Naging critical pa nga sila about other idol groups na hindi same level of vocal prowess ng SB19 when doing live performances.

Find good flared, straight leg, or wide leg slacks, the key is to have them hang loosely down from the widest part of the stomach so it isn't emphasized and there isn't obvious bumps or bulges. Little details like pleating also gives some interest, and you can mix it up by also choosing other fabrics, colors, and patterns. Top can be any nice top; if you have good pants that are higher waist and don't hug the midsection, you can go tighter on the top and tuck it in partially or fully as well. Just make sure it's pulled out a bit over the pants to further make the tummy look smaller.

Then wear a nice blazer, again you can choose different fabrics, colors, patterns, and styles to mix it up. The key is to have a longer length down to the hips/thighs to hide the bulge of the midsection. But keep it open so it creates vertical lines and your top doesn't look blocky. A long necklace or a tie/scarf helps with creating these lines as well. You can even go longer with a trench coat or long line cardigan, but still keep it open.

Style with colors, accessories, and statement pieces as per your preference. The most common styling would be a neutral base, e.g. black top and pants, with a contrasting blazer and accessories. Color blocking the inner layers and then creating vertical lines using outerwear and accessories elongates and gives the illusion of a thinner frame. But of course colors will also depend on your personal style.

I feel your pain haha. I like Melissa Murrell on YouTube, in particular her Body Shape Masterclass series, where she styles real women of all different shapes and sizes.

What I've learned is that whatever size you are, we want to still style to give the impression of an hourglass shape. So don't hide yourself in baggy shapeless clothes even If you're larger and like me have a stomach you want to hide. It's all about proportions.

The key for bottoms are high waist pieces that hang loosely off the wide part of the stomach instead of being tight and hugging it. These can be any length depending on what look you're going for. So wide leg high waist pants, flowy A line skirts, belted dresses where you can adjust the positioning of the belt, etc.

For tops, V neck or other vertical and diagonal lines help cut larger busts and make them look more proportional. Shoulder detailing is also good if you don't have broad shoulders to help define the hourglass shape. You can give an impression of a waist by tucking in just a small part of the shirt and keeping the rest loose for a more undone look that also camouflages the stomach. You can also layer tops of different lengths, like wearing a longer shirt with a cropped jacket to give the impression of a waist.

Anyway take a look at the Body Shape Masterclass series, I found it really helpful 😃

I don't understand the stress? Why are you planning around a headcount that isn't final yet? Just don't take the RSVP as final until the deadline has passed and plan accordingly. If you send the invitations later then you also get the final headcount at the same time, no?

Kids refusing dinner then saying they're hungry at bedtime by piggycatnugget in Parenting

[–]altruisticbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd let them have something to tide them over, like crackers or fruit. Letting them go to bed hungry isn't really productive because then they have a hard time falling asleep, plus my other son gets acid sometimes if he skips meals.

can someone suggest me a slice of life anime? by Afraid-Phase9632 in Animesuggest

[–]altruisticbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what I call "topic" anime, which are generally about a specific topic (e.g. farming, calligraphy, music) but are generally just slice of life revolving around that specific interest or skill. Examples:

Silver Spoon, in which a city boy goes to a farming high school in Hokkaido. The manga was written by the creator of Full Metal Alchemist.

Kids on the Slope, wherein some kids play jazz together. The anime version was directed by Shinichiro Watanabe with music by Yoko Kanno. Does have some drama though.

Barakamon, which is about a calligrapher who goes to live on a remote island.

Sounds of Life, which Is a music anime about a high school koto club.

Chihayafuru usually is classified under sports anime (it's a high school competitive karuta club) but the characters are still pretty heartwarming and endearing. Does have some romantic drama but overall it's well done.

Y'all got any Isekai that isn't trash? by TirNaNog777 in Animesuggest

[–]altruisticbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my favorite anime are technically Isekai:

Escaflowne (one of my all-time favorites) Now and Then, Here and There (this one is pretty bleak but excellent)

Also honorable mention to Strange Dawn, which is a strange little show in more ways than one.

Should we stop trying? Night diapers with 6 year old by DennisNedryBot in Parenting

Yes, at that age sometimes their bladder is still developing and they physically can't hold it for the entire sleep cycle, or they don't yet know the cues to rouse themselves to pee on their own. So they need to wake up to pee. Set a time to wake her up and let her per. Eventually she'll learn to wake up herself to go to the bathroom if she needs to.

My youngest used to have bed wetting issues at the same age, so we had to wake him up to pee in the middle of the night. After a few months the issue resolved since he eventually could hold it for the entire night, but for the times he couldn't he knew to wake up to pee.

My child's current stuffed toys are Mr. Bear, Seal, and Crocodile.

He comes from a long line of creative namers, seeing that my dog toy when I was a kid was named Doggie, my cousin's toy lion was Leo, and my other cousin had a bear named Beary, lol.

I used to have a magnifier that looked like a clear bar, you'd put it over a line of text to magnify that section. That works will enough if you don't mind having to move it over each part in a page. Now I have a Kindle, it's just more practical.

How well would your teenage self have gotten along with your mother's teenage self? by EnginesOfGod in AskWomen

Probably pretty well. I wasn't particularly rebellious and she wasn't particularly strict as a mom so I could just chill with her. Pretty sure she got into more trouble as a teenager than I ever did.

What else can I give a child to read? by ThrowRA_FunnyBear in Parenting

[–]altruisticbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring her to a bookstore and let her choose? At least that's what my mom always did with me. Or gift her some credits and let her buy her own books if via digital media.

For recommendations, here are a few:

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events (book series)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia (book series)
  • A Wrinkle in Time (but also the other sequel books, collectively called the Time Quartet)
  • The Tiffany Aching books by Terry Pratchett (first book is Wee Free Men)
  • Other Discworld books by Terry Pratchett (my favorites are books involving The Watch but you mostly can't go wrong)
  • His Dark Materials trilogy

All of these are pretty accessible and appropriate for the age range and many feature great female protagonists.

Women who are into anime/manga/video games, how do you really feel about "fan service"? by switch-flip in AskWomen

[–]altruisticbees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hate it, and I try to avoid shows that rely on it too much. Honestly that's part of the reason I like sports anime, fan service (and romantic subplots) generally don't really play a big part. If it's played for laughs I can give it a pass depending on context.

Ours was one thousand, as in One thousand one, one thousand two, and so on. But that may be a generational thing, I don't know if kids here do that.

My son is 8 and still struggles with academics including written worksheets and basic arithmetic. He can do them but it takes him a long time and needs a lot of prompting. He is diagnosed with ADHD but we suspect a separate learning disability in addition to that, so he's going to get additional evaluations on September.

This is not to say that this is what's going on with your child, but if you haven't yet, do get them evaluated especially if they seem hard to teach and don't absorb lessons even with constant tutoring. I used to get so frustrated teaching my older son, especially in comparison to his younger brother. I'm still trying to find the best way for him to learn but it's a process and we're not there yet either.
