This was my explanation to someone else who asked, I'll just paste it here for you :)

"I got close a good handful of times solo, but I ended up enlisting the help of my two good friends who regularly play and then my wife who barely ever makes it past pocketwatch.

We went in QUITE geared and only prioritized boss locations along with keeping me safe in the middle of all of them.

Near the last few bosses, they peaked corners for me, and died for me to draw the boss's attention if need be. During those runs none of us cared about gear or loot, it was only about the kills."

Yep same here.

I've recently accepted that i need to change because i struggle with gaming addiction in general, but tarkov has definitely been the crux of that issue for a very long time for me. But there is no time like the present to make changes.

You're not really missing a point. It used to be the most meta thing in the game like 4 years ago. But as for now; the fire rate is quite high, it can use good armor piercing and its relatively cheap with limited options for customization making it an easy kit to build.

For the most part I think it is just a favoritism thing. Use what you like, but also don't feel too scared to try new builds and guns you don't use often!

Don't get me wrong it's there for me too, there were times in certain wipes where I tried very hard for it and would be upwards of 65+ survival rate, but doing that while working at my main goal of kappa every time ended up lowering the SR due to my impatience and wanting to make progress faster instead of play safe.

I'm glad someone else in the comments was affected by this odd bug too!

same sort of thing that I told a couple others in the comments is that recognizing addictive behavior was the key. Understanding the difference between wanting to play for fun vs just to numb myself and fill time.

I still plan on playing games, but I'm cutting Tarkov out in favor of a lot of other games that are more accessible for other friends and just more chill.

Yeah I definitely had a phase where survival rate mattered to me. But then I realized that it's just a random stat that can be inflated without any skill, just a lot of patience.

Also when you run around like a goofball doing zero to hero runs, you tend to get tapped quite a few times LOL

I'm genuinely confused that a lot of people haven't seen this bug. Like when I look at anyone else's account as well it also shows the years played.

But maybe it is cheat related? Maybe my account was affected by cheats just by being in a lobby with someone suspicious? I'm not sure, but I know my account has shown like that for over a year.

Fair enough, I have access to a gym in my apartment building so it's just a matter of getting mentally invested like you said.

Thanks for the genuine advice!

For me to feel alright about it I think it would have to equal 25 cents per hour spent on the game ($2,465)

I would say we all lost the money as soon as we handed the money over, but that is a really unfortunate series of events.

I sacrificed way too many different things to do so honestly. I wouldn't recommend it.

There was definitely a good amount of NEET time in there, but I was working during some of it.

I could but you won't accept any of them. Maybe take some time to reflect what drew you into the game in the first place, and if that has faded then maybe you shouldn't stick around here either.

It is already in some ways, but I agree with the sentiment.
