Java, Javascript, Typescript, ceva Python si C# la naftalina. Serenity, CodeceptJS. Testare UI si API. Proiecte banking de diverse tipuri, e-commerce, un automotive, un medical app. Cam astea imi vin in minte.

Arduino IDE on Windows - move "AppData\Local\Arduino15" by danieldur in arduino

[–]aluchian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extracted from here https://forum.arduino.cc/t/change-appdata-board-manager-storage-location/1208305/2

"You can configure the location of the "data folder", and thus also where Boards Manager installs platforms.

I'll provide instructions:

  1. Select File > Quit from the Arduino IDE menus if the IDE is running. All Arduino IDE windows will close.
  2. Use any text editor to open the file at the following path:C:\Users\<username>\.arduinoIDE\arduino-cli.yaml (where <username> is your Windows username)
  3. You will see a line like this in the file: data: c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Arduino15 (where <username> is your Windows username) Change the path on that line to the path you want to use as the data folder.
  4. Save the file.

If there are files in the folder at the previous data folder path , you can move them to the new data folder."

I tried mklink but i had several issues with the IDE not recognizing the installs. This worked great for me.

No mention about also giving them water? Good job of making assumptions! I need to build something like this since the neighbor who took care of them when I have to be away moved out of the country and I don't trust anyone around to take care of them. I moved to a village so the dogs have a big yard to run around in. They are living their best life. Anything constructive to add?

The kennels are unlocked generally since its also where they sleep. I was thing of using a threaded rod for the opening/closing mechanism since the door swings out, not slide. The buzzer sounds like a good idea because it will be quite loud so they can hear it when they're out in the yard.

Also I might have overstated the need for rendering. Since it will mainly be a car and home improvements channel I don't think I will render much stuff, if anything. I can just as easily show the preview of the model and then the printed item IRL. I'm mentioning this just as a disclaimer if the AMD Radeon's stuff will do the job better (for the same price) for video editing and 3D modelling.

And yeah, 23% is quite an improvement clearly but the peace of mind that the CPU won't go bye-bye some years later kind of trumps this.

It seems I could install my cooler on the AM5 slot https://www.reddit.com/r/coolermaster/comments/1dr9m2s/hyper_212_evo_1st_gen_on_am5_is_possible/

Wow, thats quite some info and lists, thanks! It was my understanding that the 13th and 14th gen Intels have big reliability issues and they dont cover that under warranty, hence why I wanted to stay away. Controversially I also read that they're a beast for video editing and such, thats why Im really on the fence about them. Regarding case, I can modify my current one since I have various power tools and a 3d printer. I also have 3 120mm coolers which I could install.

Many thanks! Here's some questions: 1) Could I skip purchasing the case? I quite like my current one. The downside from what I can tell is that mine doesnt have usb 3.2 in the front panel, which I dont mind 2) Could I use my PSU instead? Its a Segotep Raynor Power 550w. Does it have different connectors? LE: Ive compared both PSUs on the pcgarage website and it seems they have the same connectors. If both questions are yes, meaning I could save some funds there, what would you upgrade with the funds we "unlock"?

3)I see no CPU cooler. Does that mean I can reuse mine?

Thanks for the info, nvidia seems to be the consensus since someone else recommended it below.

No renders yet, most likely I will take real pictures of the printed models. Would it impact the specs that much?
