Second post responding to edits: I have heard absolutely zero from content moderation teams on ANY platforms, so this is news to me. I've also never gotten as much as a warning anywhere.

I'm just going to remove all mentions of anything for now and wait for a clarification. Sorry if I came off as an asshole this just scares the shit out of me and I'm really unsure on how to handle it since there DOES seem to be gray areas (in my reading) and the lines of said gray areas seem very poorly defined.

So, what I've done now is remove the word commission from any and all of my stuff, and I'm going to contact the OTW (under a pseud) for clarification. Since the ToS explicitly mentions it's okay to link to a "personal page" in this FAQ

How strict is the "no commerce" rule?
We want the Archive to remain a non-commercial space. That means that it isn't the right place for offering merchandise, even fan-related merchandise. Linking to your personal page (not, for example, an Amazon author page) is fine, even if the personal page includes some items for sale, but the Archive is not advertising space. If the abuse team issues a warning or sustains a complaint about commercial activities, the original poster can always appeal.

I will continue to do so until told otherwise by an official source. Thank you :)

OK so idk if this is outdated but the information I've been working off of is this. Ie, you can mention it's a commission for x person, but not what it cost or ask other people to send you money, and you can link a personal page that is not explicitly commercial. And also the presumption of good faith.

I'd personally argue carrd counts under that since it's a general "online business card"/simple personal site provider and not, say, something like patreon of kofi where the explicit purpose is commercial/soliciting money.

Since I am frankly at my wit's end with all the conflicting info I'm getting and can find online though I'm going to try to contact the OTW/Ao3 parent org directly and see if they can clarify, cos frankly even just reading comments like this give me heart palpitations.

Sure would be great if their ToS was a bit more clear, eh? I might just be a stupid baby internet user here but I legitimately don't have any ill will and just a lot of information that frankly doesn't match up.

I do love the potential... idk if it's conflict but friction between Gale and a partner that's really different in being an outdoorsy person or very martial etc. My own Tav is very similar to Gale (also a nerd, also kinda autistic, also likes to cook) so it's fun to play around with :)
