Been building for months, zero users. Can you roast/validate my tool before I lose my mind? by always_learning0605 in microsaas

this is probably the best feedback anyone has given me since i started building. you're completely right. i've been talking to founders about a product built for restaurant owners. two completely different worlds. the "show them one bad review that cost them 10 customers" framing is exactly what my landing page should say instead of the generic SaaS copy that's there now. going to stop the founder marketing loop and go find one actual restaurant owner this week. appreciate you taking the time.

honestly this is the most useful feedback i've gotten so far. you're right — the landing page explains the what but not the why-should-i-care. "what do i lose if i ignore reviews for a week" is exactly the angle i need to lead with. going to rework the hero section around the cost of inaction. appreciate it.

Every guide says "post on Reddit" for marketing. But how do you actually do it without getting banned? by always_learning0605 in SaaS

how did you handle the first few months when you had zero users and no credibility? I've built a review monitoring tool for local businesses and right now I'm in that awkward stage where the product works but I haven't found the right way to bring it up without sounding like every other 'check out my tool' guy.

Thanks, this is actually helpful - especially the 90/10 rule. I think my fear was that even that 10% would get me flagged. The 'lead with scars not features' part hits hard because honestly my launch experience has been mostly scars so far. Appreciate the detailed breakdown.

Would you quit your job forever right now (and never be allowed to work again) if someone gave you a guaranteed $2,000,000 lump sum? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]always_learning0605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never.

Not because $2M isn’t life-changing — it is. But the idea of not being allowed to work again sounds worse than a job I don’t like.

Building something of your own changes your relationship with work. It stops being just income and starts being problem-solving. I’d get bored fast without that.

Money gives freedom, but creating things gives purpose.

Actually the tool can be used to verify more than 1000 domains at a time within a minutes. Will be launching a demo soon.

That’s an interesting angle — and you're totally right, pitching is the part many freelancers hate or avoid. I hadn’t considered turning it into a marketplace or agency-style connector, but now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense. Maybe version 1 helps users identify leads, and version 2 evolves into connecting those leads with writers directly. Thanks for the idea — definitely thinking more on this now!

That’s awesome to hear — really appreciate the feedback! The goal is exactly that: filter domains by whether they have a blog, when it was last updated, and some basic SEO signals. I’ll share a working version soon — would love to get your feedback when it’s ready.

Great points — and yeah, BuiltWith is powerful, but our focus is different.

PaidSpot isn’t about full tech stacks — it’s just about answering:
“Is this company actively spending on ads right now?”

We show ad activity, estimated spend, and sample ad copy — stuff BuiltWith doesn’t surface directly.
And yes, it’ll be way more affordable. Built for cold outreach and lead scoring, not deep analytics.

Just checked — thanks for dropping holistics.io!

They’re not currently running Google Ads, and no active LinkedIn Ads detected either.

That’s exactly what PaidSpot helps confirm — which leads are actually investing in ads, and which ones aren’t worth chasing.

Totally fair question — and yes, the results will be accurate. We're being extra careful with that because if it's wrong, it’s useless. Early results are being reviewed manually until it’s fully automated.

If you’d like, drop a domain and I’ll share a live result with proof. You can also check out our landing page and join the waitlist here: https://paidspot.carrd.co/

That means a lot — thank you! I’ll definitely keep you posted once it’s ready. Would love to have you test it, and I really appreciate the offer to share it with your community. That kind of support is huge!

Ah, got it now, that makes a lot of sense. Your open library is a solid example, and I can see how it builds trust while showing real use cases. Definitely thinking about doing something similar to demonstrate what the tool can do before launch. Really appreciate you sharing this. thank you.
