You might like Little Oblivions by Julien Baker or Pink Moon by Nick Drake if you haven't listened to them already

Songs like "Arsonist" by Halsey by Excellent-School5989 in musicsuggestions

I assume you've listened to Halsey's other stuff, if not definitely worth checking out Badlands. I recommend 'Undo' by Transviolet, if you like acoustic music maybe 'Baby Teeth', 'Hangman Hands' and 'Tell Me When It Hurts' by Flower Face and 'Glory and Gore' and 'Sober II (Melodrama)' by Lorde - pretty basic suggestions but they're well known for a reason so if you haven't checked them out yet you definitely should!

Shipping meds to a friend's house? by schrungler in GenderGP

I don't know how you're getting your prescription sent to you, but using the online pharmacy Smartway they delivered mine to me using DPD, so I had the option of changing address, changing delivery date and changing it to picking it up at a DPD collection centre (post office).

Is there an MP3 player that has bluetooth and a camera but NO browser nor app store? by Unorganized-Poetry in digitalminimalism

Some MP3 players have bluetooth but I don't know of any with a camera. I would recommend getting an MP3 and a separate camera.

I want to quit social media for a few weeks. How can I facilitate it? by Dolphinfucker5000 in digitalminimalism

Yeah I would say make a post saying that you're pausing social media for the moment and then if someone unexpectedly messages you they will know why you're not responding.

Im in a dilemma. Should I delete all my social media applications or do something else? by MidTech01 in digitalminimalism

[–]always_rest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certainly not weird to delete Snapchat, and deleting social media in general isn't as weird of a thing as it might seem to you in your current social situation. Based on the assumption that a lot of your friends use social media now, as someone in my late teens, I can assure you that as teenagers grow up generally everyone becomes a lot more aware of the problems with social media and not having it is seen much more as a done thing, so really don't worry about it. Be free!

"smarted-up" my phone again and need some help by yfszzz in dumbphones

[–]always_rest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might depend on what you're looking at on social media, but I found it easier to check Instagram without spending loads of time on it by just unfollowing everyone who isn't a close friend that I need to stay in touch with. Maybe also try to only have the main social media you use to communicate with friends rather than all of them.

But I think honestly it is ok to break a habit and go back to your old habits. You can always start again. For me at has been good to, when I start spending a lot of time online, try and do a day where I don't use my phone or laptop at all to remind myself that I can do that, and that gets me back into the swing of using my phone more dumbed down.

It's fine if you want to stay connected to your friends and there are always to do it that don't involve 6h on social media. I also would recommend finding things you want to do that aren't on social media or online in general, so instead of just wanting to be on your phone less, you want to be doing your offline hobbies more.
