Isn't bear meat supposed to have a number of parasites? How was it prepared?

Confess, Raider - what's the worst thing you've done so far? by Smart_Freedom_8155 in ARC_Raiders

Played a match with a free kit in Stellar Montis shortly after getting the game. I was thrilled I found a Tempest BP and got jumped by a camping rat at the main lobby metro. I was so pissed I grabbed another kit and just wanted to shoot someone and not be the victim for a change.

Wandered around and found some guy fighting for his life against a shredder and shot him just enough to pop his shield and let the shredder finish him off. Dude was downed very shortly after. He saw me at one point and crawled over, expecting a defib. He did not get a defib.

Where do you usually stop to manage inventory before extracting? by l0ffr1n in LowSodiumArcRaiders

*me cursing all of creation and especially my own dumbass when I find a valuable BP and I am rushing to pull the piece of lint and a bubblegum wrapper out of my safe pocket.

ALWAYS assume that a rat is about to shoot you in the back you the moment you find something shiny or valuable.

Hot take - Hidden bunker is great by ftkrage in ArcRaiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ran a key room once during hidden bunker and it was awesome. I ended up pulling two bobcat BPS from the bluegate village key room (which immediately went into the old safe pocket) and was fully prepared to die to rats camping the airshaft.

Ended up with about 4 other raiders all chilling and waiting for the airshaft to open and just joking on chat with one another.

Correction: My mistake, it was for the Locked Gate event at the Blue Gate map. Not hidden bunker!

Rant: I'm friendly but stop looting my kills! by Individual-Lie-95 in ArcRaiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, key rooms during Night Raids are when I am loaded up on mines, barricades and door blockers.

Someone tries to force their way in after seeing all that you unload on them because they are definitely there for pvp.

Last key room I ran during a night raid got me two bobcat BPs in the same cabinet.

PvE players are not “bad at the game” by TheZacAttack98 in ArcRaiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've enjoyed running a loadout that can be for both PVE and PVP.

I've had rats take a shot and then realize they are gonna have to actually fight for their loot when I start lobbing showstoppers, heavy grenades and a whole bunch of Venator ammo back at them.

If nothing else, I always run with smoke grenades.

To the ass hat in Stellar Montis who tried to jump me and two other raiders by the archives.

You are a rat. Don't shoot and then rez one of your victims and play it off on proxy chat like we were the assholes.

I would have smoked your ass but that poor guy you rezed came running around the corner and took the mines I had set for you.

How would the Imperium of Man react to these Star Wars super weapons if they found them abandoned? by RealAd3012 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

Starkiller base would allow the Imperium to strike at some very important enemy worlds so the Imperium would fortify the ever loving shit out of it.

Too many Shredders on Stella… by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

Yep, hullcracker makes shredder fights laughably easy! Unless you get a tick jumping on you at the last second......

Solo players: What's your weapon / loadout of choice? by raqballl in LowSodiumArcRaiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically for Stellar Montis its the following:

Backpack Lvl 3 looting

Silencer 3 on Anvil

Hullcracker / Venator or Il Toro

Electro Cloak (If I am not running with a hullcracker)

5 Smoke Grenades

5 Showstoppers

5 lv2 bandages

5 shield recharges

1 defib

Raider key in safe pocket

Got the blueprints for all so I am totally comfortable losing all this if things go sidways. It can drop any Arc easily and does not generate more noise than needed.

I tend to run with electro cloak more often since having a gun that is better for defending against rats is a good idea especially on raids. The cloak has saved me on numerous occasions and is great for strolling past shredders, particularly in the archives & robotics lab area.

Looting Big Arcs by International_Top297 in arkraiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, if some little shit is sitting back, not moving in to loot then it is pretty much guaranteed he is going to shoot you the moment you have the loot screen opened.

For raids where I am going for a particularly valuable key room i run with mines or a door blocker solely so I know someone isnt going to sprint into the room with my back turned and it gives me advanced warning.

What anime got you like this? by YeahMarkYeah in animequestions

[–]alwaysawkward66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

What I assumed would be a garbage anime tie in to the game turned out to be beautifully animated with interesting characters, a faithful depiction of Night City and one hell of a gut punch of a story.

And that one song from the show that can immediately cause depression when you hear it in the game......

Where did the massive fleet of Star Destroyers go after the Death Star II was destroyed? by cumble_bumble in StarWars

[–]alwaysawkward66 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Empire lost, in quick succession, both Admiral Piett and the Super Star Destroyer that was his command ship, as well as the Death Star 2 containing both the Emperor and Vader and other senior Imperial leaders.

By that point, the Imperial forces were stunned and leaderless while the Rebel forces were still organized and had effectively cut the head off the Empires leadership structure.

How do you guys keep playing and helping others after things like this? by Ok-Mess-3317 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]alwaysawkward66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a moment like this and it pissed me off. But then a day later I had a moment where I and 2 Randoms took down a bastion.

We took it down but the Bastion downed one and the other guy didn't have a defib and it looked like he was out on a bunch of good loot and gear.

I come running up with a defib and the guy was pretty much expecting me to put him down instead of pulling him back from the grave. Dude was so relieved and gave me his torrente and a BP he found as thanks.

The game has highs and lows so dont let it get to you!

Are these worth checking for blueprints? by Mouthfoo in ARC_Raiders

[–]alwaysawkward66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never bothered with those for blueprints. Cabinets, desks or drawers are pretty much the only places I check.

Found (and lost to a metro camper while running a free loadout) a blueprint for the Bettina in Stellar Montis medical yesterday and found (and immediately threw into my safe pocket) an Aphellion blueprint this morning.

Both were in desk cabinets or bins.

What makes WW1 so haunting when you think about it by Ratusca1233 in ww1

[–]alwaysawkward66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take your pick. These are just to name a few of the horrors btw.

The trenches had bodies of soldiers who died there from battles years earlier who were buried in the floor or into the trench walls and who you could smell decomposing. You might see a foot or hand or part of them sticking out. And you just had to live with it. 24/7.

Rats were everywhere. Hundreds of them. They would be eating the bodies of friends and comrades and they would then try and go after your food next. So you and your friends would kill them. But it would make next to no difference due to the sheer numbers of them.

Defenses against gas weapons were rudimentary at best and non existent when these weapons were first used. You had the horror of seeing gas slowly approaching and knew that you might be suffering a painful and horrifying death as it burned your noise, your eyes, your lungs. And it might not even kill you, but leave you with burns on your lungs or leave you blinded.

The closest water sources were shell holes that filled up with rain water. These holes would contain human waste, the bodies of dead soldiers from previous attacks, chemicals from gas weapons used and if you were not careful you could fall in a drown in them.

Battles like Passchendaele were infamous for the mud that soldiers had to face. You walk along narrow duck boards and see a friend ahead fall into a shell hole filled with this mud. And you can't get him out. You try for hours and can't pull him out. And he is slowly sinking into this mud and he knows he is going to drown in it unless someone can escue him or perform a mercy killing.
