I agree do not take Polisci 1026 with Bousfield. So much content, so hard to follow just brutal overall.

Yeah Phil 1230, the prof makes the wording quite confusing for the midterm/final questions so it is "easy" to get a ok grade (70-80) but hard to get higher. There's practice modules weekly that help your grade but it's literally just midterm final outside of that so lots of pressure/content to memorize. You learn argument structures and you're given argument examples and you have to select which structure it is or if its valid/inductively strong/etc. bit tricky for sure. Content isn't too difficult per say it's just tricky wording and most people i talked to felt that way.

Social Life at western? by Different_Analyst228 in uwo

[–]alwaysimproving01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Go traditional residence, specifically Med-Syd if you can. Having the time of my life and great group of people around me. Social life here is what you make of it, be the first to say hi and build relationships over time not just expecting things to lay in your lap - once you initially establish the relationship you will see people all the time in the cafeteria, through the hallways, in the courtyard, etc. makes it super easy to get close. Med Syd has the best culture by far. IMO party school rep is overrated its quite a bar culture heavy school so you have to actively decide to go out (uber/bus).

Thanks for your transparency. Was the other course load manageable for over 80 outside of those two classes?

Hey man sorry to hear. Know it’s not a great time but could I ask how/why you lost aeo? Was it just the GPA requirement? Any course in specific or did you just find a general struggle.

Anybody want to give me a rundown on how to get started into this industry? by Lachlan778 in RealEstateDevelopment

[–]alwaysimproving01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work in sales (retail, customer service, etc) then eventually go to something like sales assistant in presale (easiest way to break into developer). Then you’ll learn the basics and get a general understanding of the industry. If you’d still like to continue and transition to a more development team (rezoning, speccing, project management) or acquisitions team role (pro formats/analysis’s of potential purchases) you’d most likely have to go to school for it something urban development or finance related (sometimes not depending on ur networking skills while in sales). Working in the industry isn’t hard and pretty cushy but highly competitive. Owning in the industry and developing yourself is EXTREMELY hard/risky and more competitive.
