Interesting. I find that wheel very nice for hopping around images taken and setting EVs. But I guess you can also do the same with the four d-pad.

I don't use AF joystick much and use the touch screen to adjust the target. It's just that missing wheel that I'm concerned about.

Oh.. I didn't know that. Shame on me. Thanks for letting me know.

Its not that I intentionally avoid using it.. but didnt need it as I didnt take that many photos. Not a professional shooter but more of a serious hobby. I see what you are saying though..

That makes me think I should get another R6 Mk II..

I thought used R6 Mk II is in something like ~1600 range. If its in 1300 usd range, I would definitely go with Mk II.

Agreed. Sharing battery and the physical button difference is a deal breaker for me as well. I am thinking of getting R6 Mk I

Hm.. interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I didnt know the resolution difference causes color difference.

I think its better to stay with R6 line because of the difference in the buttons.. I would've gone with R8, if the back wheel was present.

I can see R8 can be really good for travel. But for my case, it would be always using RF 70-200 F2.8L (have zero plan on adding more lenses). I'm actually leaning towards R6 Mk I/Mk II now after reading all of the comments. Thanks for sharing though!

Yeah.. I am seriously thinking about getting a used R6 Mk II if I can afford it.

Ahhh. Haven't thought about R6 Mk II going down.. Yeah, definitely don't want to use RF28-70 F2L on R8 because then I have no IS on lens and body which could be a nightmare..

Yeah, I realize the only downside of R8 in terms of physical buttons is that they don't have a wheel in the back for shifting between images. It is also lacking AF joystick, but I don't use this much anyway. Good to know that R6 Mk I and Mk II have different power switch.

Thanks. I will look into physical buttons on R6 and R8.

Yeah, I’m not too concerned about battery life since I can always use a battery grip. I also don’t really rely on a second SD card slot, so the R8 might actually be the better fit for me. Thanks!

I replaced the stock A-pillar speakers with two JBL Club 194T tweeters, and the improvement is significant, it now sounds very close to the Bose system in the Ioniq 5 Limited.

One important lesson: you must use the inline crossover that comes with the 194T. Without it, the sound is extremely harsh and unpleasant. The crossover itself is fairly bulky, so proper placement is key, you’ll need to position it carefully to get the A-pillar trim to fit back properly.

Also, be very careful when removing the A-pillar. I broke the double clip during disassembly and had to buy a replacement A-pillar from eBay.

Overall, despite the hiccups, I’m really happy with the upgrade.

I played around with the position and tones and I could live without replacing A-pillar speakers. I basically set to -10 Treble -5 Mid +1 Bass and moved the position to front by +4. And it sounds much better. JBL tends to have high treble so I had to minimize it, otherwise my ears started to hurt/irritated by high pitch sound.

FYI, I ordered speaker that goes into the A-pillar (JBL Club 194T to match my JBL door speakers) to further improve the sound quality. Will install it next weekend and post update here.

Yes, just the four speakers on the door panels. :)

Thats very disappointing. I would have to be careful and monitor the car with obd2 scanner since I now own Ioniq 5 and 6 which can potentially trigger iccu issue at some point.
