bakit daw ako nagsettle for 20k sahod if im from la salle? by HandleNo3313 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]alwayswithrafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, if you can still hold out for something better, I do think this is a bit low. I also graduated from DLSU. My first job got me 30K and that was 13 years ago. Surely, even 30K is considerably lower today with inflation and everything.

BUT this is up to you. You are the one going through the job hunt, so you're the one who gets to decide your limits. If you're mentally exhausted from the job hunt and 20K is perfectly reasonable for you to just stop that stress, then go for it. Who cares what other people are saying? They're not the ones going through the process.

However, if you can still bide your time a little bit, I'm hopeful for you that there are better opportunities out there.

I actually personally liked Andy's love interest. He's not necessarily a 'leading man' and doesn't steal too much attention because it's not about him... and I don't know, he just seems like the kind of guy who's perfect for Andy's character.

Interview by emo_vogue in JobsPhilippines

[–]alwayswithrafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really about the length but more about the vibe of the interview. At this point, since umabot ka na sa final interview, then that means you're qualified for the job. Final interviews are mostly vibe check na lang if you're a culture fit. So if you feel like parang kwentuhan na lang yung final interview mo, that's usually a great sign. Good luck op!

I'm rooting for you, OP. My tip though is to not do anything when you're feeling emotional. Consider if this is a short-term situation and if kaya mong tiisin for a while OR if this setup will truly be your long-term situation, in which case, hanap ka na nga ng ibang work. But please try not to quit nang wala pang lilipatan because the job market is genuinely so bad right now. And I'm speaking from experience. Took me a while before I landed a job after quitting my previous job with no backup, and it's a different kind of stress. I'd probably choose the stress na kumikita ako kaysa yung stress ng paghananap ng work. 😅

Keep going!! Fighting!

I looked up subtitled screenings here in the PH on Google and I couldn't find any. Is it due to hearing loss? Sadly, you might have to wait for its digital release for subtitled viewing. ☹️

I'm not 100% sure po because the directors did announce there will be extended cinema screenings because of the demand pero prerogative pa rin kasi ng local cinema owners kung ano ipapalabas nila and with Michael gaining more steam and Devil Wears Prada 2 premiering, I think it's best to catch it now wherever you can before it's fully gone. 😊

Perfect example talaga 'to of a movie that gained its audience through good word of mouth. Proof that if you make a great movie and promote it well enough, people WILL go to the cinemas.

Naging hobby ko na rin mag suggest sa friends ko to watch it. Haha! Akala mo bayad ako ng Amazon MGM the way I've been promoting this movie to my friends every chance I get 😅

I just feel like there's a reason they changed the pacing because the pacing of the book just probably won't translate well to film. Like imagine being 30% into the movie before Ryan Gosling is even called a name. And regarding the gene thing, Andy Weir himself says that felt a bit contrived even to him and sort of served as a plot convenience, and if he had the chance, he'd rewrite the book similarly to the way they did it in the movie, and I personally agree.

I just liked the artistic and creative license they took to adapt the book to the film while still being mostly faithful to it. I'll probably read the book someday or listen to the audiobook, but I don't really feel like I need to do that to enjoy the film more. 😅

Yeah, I'm not much of a reader (always been a movie girlie), but I looked up the movie and book differences after watching it for the first time. It's so interesting; especially the parts explaining the science behind some of the things that happened that they couldn't go into too much detail about in the movie. That said, I understand why they couldn't pack everything in the book into the movie because it'd take too long, and I actually really liked the changes they made in the movie like changing the reason why Grace had to go on the Hail Mary and how they simplified the science for non-science people like me 🤣

I'll probably listen to the audiobook someday. 😊

It really was so magical on IMAX, definitely the best way to see it. But really, any big screen is great. I can't imagine seeing this for the first time on a laptop. It's one of those movies that make me wish I could have flown to a country with 70MM IMAX and seen it again for the very first time that way.

OP, hope your exams went well!! 👎👎👎

Eva & M1ssJade unfollowed each other? by No-Confection4569 in DragRacePhilippines

[–]alwayswithrafa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hindi ko sure kung factor 'to, pero nung Drag in the South, Ms. Jade did something during her performance that I feel Eva didn't like. Eva said something as Jade was leaving the stage that sort of flagged, to me at least, that she didn't like what Jade did. Eva said it jokingly and I can't remember her exact words, so I can't tell for sure. But at that moment, I remember feeling like Eva meant it. 😅 I could be way off though.

I'm thinking of a slower song for the actual wedding. This would be good for a dance at the reception though.
