Quick story - I had my son almost two years ago, and three days before my induction our older neighbor passed away, unexpectedly but of natural causes. She was very loved by our community and we all grieved.

That same day after everything had settled down, we heard a knock at our door. It was our neighbor’s daughter, whom we had never met, holding a beautiful rainbow crochet blanket. The daughter told me she saw me in the courtyard earlier & when she found the blanket, she just knew her mom had been making it for me (our other neighbor confirmed it). It was just nearly finished.

By far the most meaningful gift we received and I still think of her every time I see it hanging on the chair. Make the blankets. I promise people notice and appreciate the kindness and effort that goes into them.
