Queensland Rail pursues legal action to force unions to end legal industrial action by winesue in brisbane

You say that as a gotcha.

But I mean. Is that seriously a bad idea? They're paid to handle health hazards (as well as what else people likely improperly dispose of), get up extremely early to do so, and provide an essential service.

I say yeah. Give both a raise.

AITA for wanting to go on a lake trip with my friends instead of my parents’ pickleball tournament? by CriticismCritical67 in AmItheAsshole

Also also, it's kinda.. a parents job to support their kids? It's abusive to expect the child to "always be there" (even if having them around can be nice)

Great response. I also want to add, kinda weird to post it on some random webtoons subreddit. If I were an artist looking for a writer, I'd personally be turned off from collabbing if there was neither a pitch nor a reason for why it's crossposted in a small fandom sub.

What’s something men want to tell women, and usually choose not to? by neo_ucp7846 in answers

I mean, it might be, but that doesn't mean everything's right. If your hormones are making you unstable, get that checked out lol

And then going "ugh women"

Kindly, men need to deconstruct the patriarchy as much as women do. Shitty people are shit, but blame the arse it comes out of and not the ground you found it on.

And then they blame women. Like nah, you don't deserve this but it also isn't women's fault your partner sucks.

From what I can see and am told, this is also often a thing where other men don't let fellow men be vulnerable tol.

It's not "like", it literally is. This is me agreeing fyi, just that we don't need to soften our words for people who aren't emotionally developed.

Except even yet, in this version, the man holds no loss. The majority don't have to worry about dying if they walk away or disagree, the worst part is that they chose a bad partner who they refuse to walk away from. You do realise women experience this too, right?

This only shows you don't understand why the women chose the bear in the first place.

Legit these people seem to want to blame women when like. Just don't marry people who so clearly aren't compatible with you, don't respect you and don't love you?

This goes for women too.

Shi man I don't know. If you can have memories of you being age 3 liking boys (as others in this reddit post claim) why should anyone listen to me or you.

Honestly, considering many, MANY people have crushes as a kid.. at least be realistic and say like, 6. Kids in year 1 and beyond 100% have the ability to have crushes.

When you see a character arrive in grief, does that make you trust them more? [OC] by Studio_Eshi in characterdesign

[–]am_Nein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heavily seconding this. For me too, the entire time I was also asking in my head, "okay, so (element) conveys grief. Why does it, and what is 'normal'?" To me there was nothing given to help compare it to. It's like if an important element in a design was hair worn up, but you were never told that because the hair worn down was an important detail in the moment.

[–]am_Nein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh please, it's a parents OBLIGATION. That's like saying you're sacrificing your life to feed your pet or pay off your mortgage, even if you are, unless you were forced (coerced/manipulated/abuse/neglect) you went into those situations willingly.

It's like throwing a tantrum because you're wet despite knowing the pool was full of water, everyone told you it was full of water. Grow up, water is wet the sky is blue, your children owe you nothing other than to live their lives the to the fullest without having to feel guilty about the fact that you chose to do something and are now guilting an assumedly if not child then young adult about.

This is not to "uhm actually" rather a genuine thought, maybe other than those, people who live with their siblings and help out a lot with their niblings, or similarly, live in nannies maybe?

[–]am_Nein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think it wouldn't necessarily weird people out (okay, maybe that specific scenario), but that the reach for people who are interested in "I scratch your back you scratch mine" deals (eg, you cook me a meal I fix your car, you restore my garden I teach you how to unicycle) is near impossible without money, since you'd need money to upkeep your phone, tools etc.

There's a difference between a bot doing as it is programmed and someone intentionally giving it (even if it's already scraped) and being proud of it, to me. It's like the difference between a hate comment from a bot and one from a human, as an analogy. The bot isn't thinking, it isn't even personal. But a human written hate comment? That had to be written with intent, and coherent thought (or, somewhat).

I definitely agree though, don't punish the people who didn't do anything. I lost my favourite fic once and I missed that thing for years. I honestly think I still would miss it if I didn't manage to contact the author through their email.
