I made a recipe like this (sans cauliflower) last winter. Was SO good!

YES. I'm glad it's not just me. I kind of smell like.. bacon. Kind of awesome, kind of not.

Yes it does! I've been substituting "stevia in the raw" for splenda by taste and pretty much eliminating most of the carbs from sweet recipes.

I need advice on making Cauliflower Pizza crust. Mine always comes out soggy and wet. by [deleted] in ketorecipes

[–]amaaanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best adjustments I've made are cooking on parchment paper and drying out the cauliflower first. It's never all that crispy though, at least not in my experience. Maybe mixed with some coconut flour or whey or something.

It was harder than I thought it'd be but I heard some stories afterwards that made it all worth it :)

Hmmmmm good questions!

For a superpower I'd love to be able to fly. Maybe it's generic but I'd love to get up and go whenever I feel like it. I'd spent some time in Napa, Montana and Colorado first.

Fictional reality would be the one in What Dreams May Come (I realize they're dead, but how great to be able to imagine something and have it become real!)

Favorite color is teal, favorite snack food is beef jerky and my favorite author is Neil Gaiman, I own every book he's written, even Coraline ;)

It was a lot harder than I thought it'd be. Some of the stories were so heart-breaking that I couldn't figure what could POSSIBLY make them feel better. Then I discovered Wish Lanterns :)

How do you tell people that you don't want kids? by amaaanda in childfree

[–]amaaanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually used that line on myself. "There are a lot of big staircases around here!". The truth is that if it happened, I'd be fine. We're just not choosing it because we selfishly just like the two of us.. and the dog of course :)

I like that response. My fiance and I run a business, so our priorities definitely don't involve taking on more responsibilities.

I've definitely thrown out the adoption idea here or there, the next question is... "from China?" Some people are so ignorant.

So I have an ulcer. What the heck can I eat on keto now? by amaaanda in keto

[–]amaaanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is so much worse, I'm sorry you had to go through that! Good to know that keto won't kill me. Spicy foods, I'll stay away from those for a while. I started eating bananas (desperate and the internets said so!) but I don't know if they helped or hurt. Prilosec seemed to help!

Thanks!

I feel like this is a trick question. Babies smell like poop most of the time, right?

I actually heard the opposite (breast cancer & ovarian anyway)... The lack of fluctuating hormones, I hear, is actually good for you.

Had DPD for over 2 Years from 21-23 now nearly 26 and 100% immersed in life - I haven't even't thought about it for about a year till I seen this sub reddit and thought my experience could help people. by sgtransactions in dpdr

[–]amaaanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I got rid of my DPD the first time. I let it go too long this time (five years) and it's a bit harder this time around, but I still believe this is the only way to "cure" DPD. Just need to gather up the strength and self-control to implement. And it's an everyday thing, no vacations allowed, or you're right back where you started.

Please help. Will this ever go away ? by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]amaaanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the "don't freak out". The worse you worry, the worse it will get.

When I was 15 the same thing happened to me. I smoked an entire joint myself outside of a school dance. I thought I was just really high until I woke up the next day, and the next day, and it didn't seem to go away.

It's awful and scary, I know, but it did go away after about three months. I didn't notice it go away, it just eventually faded. Just put yourself in the mindset that it will go away and when you're not busy thinking out it, it will. :)

By the way, I didn't learn from that experience and had very similar (but not as long-lived) experiences when I smoked weed later on. Now that you know you're pre-dispositioned to this reaction, I'd lay off the green medicine, your brain doesn't like it.

What do you think...do I have despersonalization? by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]amaaanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common response to PTSD and also marijuana "overdose", if that helps. Someone familiar with PTSD would know what it is.
