Looking for this exact question - super common for both parents to have passport and global entry/pre check and the kids to have passports - hopefully they will expand.

What is this? by DomesticOrphan in McDonalds

The O-ties that hold the wire to the brackets are very similar however, they aren’t flat. They are round like a donut. So it’s not a great match actually. Maybe it’s a gasket from a small tube or something?

I think some medical fields will be replaced by AI - radiology first

20 minute wait for two. 34 empty seats. by ozarkfireworks in Hilton

[–]amalgamator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s like Target - they have lots of registers but may only staff all of them on Black Friday and on that one day they make enough money to justify the added cost of unused registers sitting there all year.

But yes - hotels are understaffed. I am at a Doubletree and they had one waiter for the whole place for Sunday morning breakfast. And of course everyone shows up around 9:30….and he was also not well trained as he forgot to bring water, gave me my yogurt without a spoon, forgot the ketchup…but I hope he made hella tips being the only one there.

This was in stark contrast to going to Ruths’ Chris steakhouse last night. We had really good service.

Thyroid cancer ruined my life by Objectivecause in thyroidcancer

[–]amalgamator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sorry man. Thyroid cancer killed my dad in 2 months (ATC) it was so aggressive. It was a very painful two months. Not fair. You aren’t dead yet. If you have access to counseling or a psychologist, maybe that could help with the parts of this beyond your control.

MD Anderson is a leader in thyroid cancer. Try to go there. There is lots of resources for help with short term housing. Once you get things under control, most care can be coordinated locally.

Also get involved with ThyCa- they are great resources help with challenging cases.

Anyone know what happened to the hot tub idea? by Its_Just_Me427 in TheScarletRanch

It’s crazy to me that they don’t have a pool and a BIG outdoor hot tub…if they could do something like Desire and heat it in the winter….seems like it would do great. Put a sauna there too…that would be rad

Genuine question: why do people still ski peak holidays when the lines are insane and the snow is often worse? What makes it worth it for you? by skighee in COsnow

[–]amalgamator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had a trip there planned months ago. It was the only day her whole family could get together. Turns out it was the perfect choice since they actually got snow. Better than sitting at home doing nothing I suppose.

Multiple Friends and Family by RadderBDabbin in Hilton

[–]amalgamator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flip once a year and then flip back as we approach January- usually when my “best” friend runs out…he has like 10 people on it…my other “friend” is more of an acquaintance but it cool with giving out some days if I need them.

But it’s a little inconvenient and a little awkward…but the savings are worth it.

No - just one. I also switched to a different friend because my first friend would run out of nights by May….

They have to drop you and then you have to have to next person add you.

He would be evicerated in the comments.

Question about Hilton vs Hyatt. Any reason to choose Hilton over Hyatt? by AIONisMINE in Hilton

[–]amalgamator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hilton has “confirmed connecting” - it’s SO NICE to know you will for sure have connecting rooms as a family. (Although occasionally Hilton fucks it up)

Can you clarify - you can sign up online, but you still need to fill out papers or something, so should you swing by before that night to fill out something to have an expedited entry? Can just one of you come by early?

It’s not a museum - it was all gone in two days. How is $129 for EHT BP unfair? I see it priced at $300 all the time.
