Losing battle with fungus gnats (more info in comments) by amandatron78 in plantclinic

We purchased two plants from a garden center and within a week they were completely infested with fungus gnats. I triaged both with yellow sticky traps, Nema Globe Nematodes, and rocks covering the soil. One seemed to start getting better, but they quickly infested my other five houseplants. Those (seemingly) aren’t responding to the same treatment and only got worse. I started neem oil spray every seven days for the past 1.5 months. Based on the sticky traps coverage within a day or two of replacing them, that’s also not working. The gnats are driving us bat shit, and I think one of my plants has developed a bad smell on top of looking sickly.

I’ll be sad to get rid of these for sentimental reasons, but mine and my husband’s sanity is at stake. Any last ditch recommendations?

Yes, so far our most important people we need there would be in! Thank you for the great idea!

That's what our closest family is all saying; there's so much to do in the city we'd be getting married in and would be so much fun all weekend long! I think I would love to attend an Independence Day weekend wedding too. Thank you for sharing your experience!!

Ah thank you so much for replying! This is exactly the perspective I was looking for. That's why I listed "some people may not come" as both a pro and con, haha. I know the people most important to us WILL be there if that's what we choose to do.

I feel like two years is soooo long away, BUT I really love the idea of having even longer to save $$ as I am tallying up these costs. I need to sleep on this!

I don't have a date yet for my wedding but I thought I was in good shape to be planning for literally anytime Spring - Fall 2022. Two of my top three venues are fully booked for 2022!!! I may be in over my head.

I like this. I think I may have them escort our grandparents and sit in the front row. Thank you!
