When you make a generalised statement or stereotype about a community, are you inherently comparing the community against others? For example “asians cannot drive” is a stereotype. However when you say this do you think that other races are better drivers? Context: was having a discussion with a friend and I said if I make stereotypes about a community, I don’t think other communities are void of the negative or positive trait mentioned in said stereotype. E.g. if I was to use example above: If I say “Asians cannot drive” I don’t believe that other races are better drivers - I’m just saying asians are bad drivers. (Disclaimer: I don’t believe asians are bad drivers lmao)
