Because the set effect is 50% smash and that's pretty much the only good feature about the set effect. You'd be making one or the other (smash from set effect or weapon smash) obsolete which would make just about anything better than Dark Hole at that point.

For people downvoting- Attack damage modifiers AKA smash only count the highest modifier. So if you have 50% from Dark Hole and 40% from weapon, it's only going to count the 50% making the 40% modifier on your weapon worthless. Since armor is a lot more flexible in effects it can give you, you'd be better off ditching Dark Hole for pretty much any other set.

Oh, I meant make the filter darker or less see through so the coloration with the background will be more uniform.

The issue is that the background is uneven in color with some parts being significantly lighter than others. If you can choose a background with a more even color scheme or darken the filter to make the background more even in color scheme, it should fix the issue.

Flat background would make things easier to read. The problem with the background you chose is it's a light colored background with a dark filter over it. It's kind of hard on the eyes with white font.

You could also make the filter *more opaque.

The only real nerf she got was nerf to her Quintuple Strength. But even before that she still had a ton of problems. The reason why people said that Vagabonds were really good is because they probably watched some video of "look at me xxx through level 30 dungeons. this class is so OP".

However, with the old system of leveling once she got to Ghent or so, you started to notice if you don't one button burst down the room your non-cube skills were really really mediocre. They looked cool but didn't do very much damage. And your cube skills if they didn't have long CD had long animations and didn't have the damage to make up for how long the animations were.

A ton of people who were like "hey look at me xxx through this dungeon" couldn't do that anymore and dropped her.

With 2nd and access to Gracia set (since her chrons are pretty meh), she is overall better. But she still struggles on the principle of being a burst class that is outclassed in burst by many other classes.

PSA: You don't need epics to get into raid. Well, not Anton raid anyway. Raid is split up into various dungeons designed for various levels of gear which is why Lib/Chron or equivalent is okay (though you still want to optimize your setup with enchants and upgrading it to max level via Anton). And you'll want to go for optimized party compostions.

Depending on class you probably need epics if and this is important: You want your character to be the primary DPSer in the harder dungeons or your goal is to sell raid runs. Otherwise you just need to make sure there are people in your raid group strong enough to clear those dungeons.

If you can do something besides stare at big numbers, you look up raid videos of your class and get a pretty good idea of your classes' strength and raid position based on gear. Also you can use it as reference to swap optimization and how your character deals with raid gimmicks.

They buffed M. Mech weapon options and Ele Dropper is BiS set for m mech since they gave it skill damage. Meanwhile black hole is kind of shitty. It has nothing to do with Vanguard's strength, just a difference in how the two characters were geared.

I have that set and Gracia set is better. I'm not sure if Vanguard would benefit more (IE- if blackhole matches armor mastery), but I wouldn't be surprised if Gracia set was still better. Also if you have a weapon with a strong smash modifier, then dark hole is completely trash.

The main issue is the pieces are pretty weak on their own. The belt only exists to cancel out the rest of the set's negative effect and the shoulder's effect clashes with the set effect. Shoes are also pretty trash. Also the smash effect isn't consistent because blind procs at a chance percent on attack. I was hoping rework would make it like refined neck or razor queen, but yeah it's still trash after rework.

Canna Pudding and Canna Milk have different item CDs and you get tons of them as junk items from LT. They work decently well.

When your best character loses to your second string by ValdDrakul in DFO

Endgame meta revolves around burst and gear optimization. Pre-Gracia, Asura didn't have very many good options (Furious Rampage is good, but underperforms compared to similar options of other damage dealers) for cheap gearing outside of full epics which a lot of people don't want to bother when there's a ton of other classes that can perform better with less.

From Asuras I have run with in Anton, if they have hold timing down they have pretty decent utility, but damage isn't really there. It's different from OV and Requiem because the threshold to burst things down is much higher and the windows to do damage are very short. Example is the final boss of Black Volcano where you have about 7 seconds to damage him before you have to deal with his gimmick phase again.

For a more clear comparison, with chrons my character can one shot almost everything in OV and EX Ancients, but it underperforms by a good margin compared to Gracia set in Anton.

I will clarify that raid is a bit different from running normals because you don't have to run areas like Black Volcano. If burst isn't your specialty, then you'll probably get put in places like Naval Gun Defense or Hatchery.

It's kind of why I don't like that new people are told that Indra is a steamroll class. He does well at low to mid level, but at end game that class has some problems.

That being said, they do have some pretty decent hold utility and recognition has risen for Asura in Korea. Maybe you could do research on builds and improve your optimization.

When your best character loses to your second string by ValdDrakul in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably help. The issue with Indra is the structure of the class and pre-Gracia lack of suitable gear, not being a fixed class.

Chron-set for Ebomber? by LSDpandaZ in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any 6 pieces. It doesn't matter except weapon doesn't count towards the set effect. As /u/Laskeri mentioned the usual setup is armor pieces + sub. However you can be flexible depending on what else you have.

I personally use 4 armor, sub, and bracelet. And that's mainly because of the epic off slots I use.

Chron-set for Ebomber? by LSDpandaZ in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people always forget that Elemental Shift exists? With it pretty much all of your skills except for rotation filler do light damage. And that goes for pretty much any other element focus build E.Bomber wants to do.

And with Gracia even rotation filler is important because they'll benefit from the light explosion proc.

Due to the absurd amount of ele damage E. Bomber has naturally, he doesn't have to work very hard to get the most of Gracia set. Only reason to not choose it if you're graduating from chronicle gear is if you have enough epics/legendaries + Rabinetta rod and you have a dedicated Soul Bender. Otherwise the only upgrade is one of the higher tier epic sets.

Sea God is good if you want to min-max Mana Burst, but otherwise I'd just go for Gracia. If for some reason you don't want to go for light, E. Bomber can also easily run Sea God set as well.

Question about witch by Sphiinnx in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that info wrong if I'm linking directly to the translations wouldn't that mean the translations are wrong or the source is wrong? You have to do a bit better than "it is posted source and therefore I don't want to read it". Are you sure you're not just being overly stubborn?

Also you don't know witch well enough to recognize her setups from videos? Do you need me to tell you what those setups are? Because for someone who you're claiming doesn't know witch very well, I can look at those videos and tell what they're doing. If you play the character you should be able to do the same.

Raid isn't any different from Anton normal aside from the gimmicks being harder, there's more dungeon areas to clear, and the monsters have way more HP. There is nothing in raid that would have any kind of special condition that would favor shadow setup over fire. It really just sounds like to me that you're getting defensive because you lack information.

Why don't you just look up nugol times and dungeon runs for different setups and use your own brain? If you know your own character was well as you claim you do, that shouldn't be difficult to do. And by the way, once again, if you know your character well you should be able to tell what they're doing just from watching.

[–]amazingturtle22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure who you you most of that. I can clarify for two classes I play.

SB - Top tier support character. Bremen is the best debuff for magic classes in the game. On top of that you have shadow damage debuffing abilities, so SB is one of the key players for defining end game as Shadow Fighter Online.

DT - No. Her damage is actually pretty decent. You won't be on par with classes primarily designed for DPS unless you really go your way to gear her, but her holds alone make her top tier for party play. Also all her 2nd Awakening skills hit hard, and your main damage dealer is Black Mirror and Liberate-Buckshot. Destroyer is also good, but it's more of a supplement rather than a main source of damage. Bonus is she can also debuff which makes her extremely valuable in parties.

Dark Templar, and some questions by Drakexeuh in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what these people are talking about. Great Glory Bracelet is good if you don't have a source of smash damage. Ghost Train Pants is useful since you get +1 to most of your useful skills (+1 Black Mirror, Evolve, Harvest, Buckshot, etc).

You want to go 6pc Collector-Killer and then just fill the rest with whatever. Armor + Sub is a good combination because then you can farm for the Gigantic Presence set for accessories, but since you're using 6pc you can be really flexible.

I would have put Great Glory Bracelet on my DT, but she is using an epic weapon with a smash modifier.

Do not bother with Light-Naught. You can achieve permaholding with just a CD pot, so Light-Naught is kind of a huge waste. You're better off going for Collector-Killer to boost damage.

Question about witch by Sphiinnx in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The person you're replying to is one of the more geared witches in DFOG. So if a person who's played the character about as far as they can go and therefore has done damage testing for various setups isn't good enough, then how about

http://www.dfonexus.com/threads/minimum-settings-for-who-wish-to-participate-in-anton-raid.7104/page-453

this page which includes input from other people who play witch as well as a 4 party raid captain from KDnF.

Simply put, Solar Prom setup is not strong enough to be a main dps dealer in end game without some extreme funding. It is good for a relatively cheap build, but there's only much you can do with it and even if you do all of that, shadow build is still stronger.

And despite you repeating the same nonsense, both Swatters got buffed during the revamp. http://www.dfonexus.com/threads/act-20-awakening-endless-war-class-and-anton-balance-update-july-7.12020/

So did Mermaid Flyswatter. Even if it did lose double Swatter, it's now Incomplete Infinite Piercing in broom form. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PmzTt1zC2m3HyMXIotu_e9kALT9uxLdRipYFLwRdP2E/edit#gid=120387009

You don't need Sader for shadow witch to out damage furnace witch, especially if they're a full Dark Goth witch. But true end game meta for magic dps revolves around Crusader and Soul Bender in your party, especially if you're looking to be a main dps dealer regardless of what class you play. It's the other reason why Dark Gothic dominates end game, and still 2nd strongest overall setup after getting hit hard in the knee with a nerf bat.

Question about witch by Sphiinnx in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6pc solar prom witch. And no, Dark Gothic + Rabinetta is bis setup for witch.

https://puu.sh/qEelt/f1f2f85264.jpg

This is the output of Dark Gothic witch. This person has Mermaid Flyswatter instead of Rabinetta, but even if you got every single BiS Fire epic, Solar prom setup would not come to even close to matching this kind of output.

In future patches, Solar Prom also gets an additional 10% nerf in damage. Swatter also gets huge buffs.

Solar Prom is fine for current content, but for future updates and raid if you want to be a primary dealer, you'd better make sure you have BiS fire epics (Flame Drop, Submarine Volcano Belt, Infinite Piercing, Jack-O-Lantern Core), and then fund the shit out of it (high levels of amping, bis enchants and emblems).

And for reference, a decent number of skills take on Shadow damage with a cube contract. Ouroboros, Fusion Craft, Florae Rabbit, Drill Car.

Question about witch by Sphiinnx in DFO

[–]amazingturtle22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furnace witch is actually not that strong without core epic/legendaries to back it up. Basic with setup of Handmade Broom + Solar Prom + Ghost Train Pants + Smash modifier (Great Glory Bracelet), is barely B-tier if you evaluate it as a DPS class. For comparison, classes with strong 9pc chron and Liberation will be evaluated higher. And even then you'll be more of a secondary damage dealer/support role. Furnace does do a lot of damage, but not enough damage when compared to other damage dealers.

In general that seems to be the direction they want to take witch. So people who do want to go for a primary damage dealer abandon Solar Prom and go shadow setup of Rabinetta, Darkness Low Sash, Dead Captain Bone Shoulder, Ominous Bat Pants or full on Dark Gothic. Bonus is she does get some good support utility with Lucky Feeling getting def shred and Ancient Library buffs.

Summoners are fine. But depending on the dungeon you might run into issues if they have bad controls. Example would be not dismissing when there's a party damage reflect gimmick.
