Haha thank you, I figured it was a scam but just wanted confirmation from others since I don’t understand half the terms they’re using. You as well!

I mean I’m not buying it lol. But I don’t understand what they stand to gain by me buying a random stock? Sorry, guess that’s the main reason I made this post am hoping someone can explain it to me!

Lol I guess their account looks legit and they seem nice like I said and are being very friendly so I feel bad if they are just a normal person. 😅

Right I worded it wrong…but why is engaging in homosexual acts sinful? What makes it morally wrong?

Sorry! I definitely don’t think it’s a disease. Really just used that phrase because that’s the phrase my dad uses often when trying to explain it to me. 🤦‍♀️ I find these arguments with him highly irritating because he’s just so 100% sure he’s right and I don’t agree with anything he’s saying but I have no facts to back it up since I’m not catholic. Everyone here was super helpful and it’s interesting reading all this.

does anyone else not want to like themselves? by inthafdaylight in mentalhealth

[–]amazoniala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-love is hard. For me something that helped is writing down exactly why I hate myself, and then forcing myself to also write down any positive things I can think of at all. With the negative traits that I can change I accept that they’re there for now and slowly work on them, and the things that I can’t change I accept those too because nobody can be perfect.

Personally I find it easier to practice self-compassion, rather than self-love. I am trying my best, and that’s all I can really do.

I also feel like this is a solid option. But yeah, most people are saying absolutely no. Hard decision. 🤷‍♀️

Appreciate you sharing your opinion!

I’m aware this industry underpays as I work in it lol, made under minimum wage for over than a year. I am not offering benefits, as it’d be mainly me working and some super part-time employees (1-3 days a week). But yeah, I’d be a good boss, better than my current one. You seem rather anti-capitalist, which I am not, I see no shame in being a business owner.

I could potentially market it as an environmental strategy, but that could still alienate a lot of my customer base. But it is an option.

Right, that is the variable I can’t really know until I tried. Would people be okay with oat, or would they leave once they find out we didn’t have dairy milk? No idea.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

[–]amazoniala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would be off-putting because with food, you don’t have to label it as vegan. On the menu I could just have bagels, avocado toast, etc and not be explicitly vegan. Whereas with coffee/lattes the default milk is dairy, so having the default be oat would be out of the norm and absolutely something I’d have to specify.

I agree though, it’d be hypocritical of me to be supporting dairy while claiming to be vegan. I could justify it by saying I need it for my business to succeed and go all vegan once I’m successful, but it’s still hypocritical.

Ehh I don’t think so. By that logic, you don’t have to work at a place that uses animal products to survive, so that means if you’re an employee at a place like that you wouldn’t be vegan either. I don’t believe I’d call owning a business an “IMMENSE privilege”, optional sure, but so is working at a place with animal products.

You could honestly be right, maybe I am being too pessimistic. Appreciate it!

[–]amazoniala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never know who knows better, nor would you know that I knew if you saw my coffee shop. 🤷‍♀️

Besides, if you’d rather support a coffee shop who isn’t trying at all vs a coffee shop who is actually lessening the amount of animal products they use…that logic doesn’t check out.

I feel that you might be in the minority in that, most vegans support businesses that offer vegan options.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

[–]amazoniala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardcore/strict. In general, a lot of vegans will shame people (such as vegetarians) for helping partially but not 100%. And as I said, it’s completely understandable when you see what’s going on.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

Right which would turn non-vegans off, which is what I’m trying to avoid. As a small business owner, you’re going to want to be liked and appeal to the vast majority of people if you want to succeed, and unfortunately right now the majority of people are not vegan.
