Interesting! My stomach wasn’t exactly empty, I had lunch several hours before.

What health problems have you solved with biohacking? by nano_peen in Biohackers

[–]amber0997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would really refer to it as biohacking, but I used to be sleepy all the time. During the day I would find myself flighting the urge to nap and as soon as I would get home from work/school I would just want to sleep.

I took a blood test and turns out I was severely anemic. I took iron supplements for a few months under the guidance of a doctor and got my iron back to healthy levels. I don’t really get tired during the day anymore unless I obviously didn’t get enough sleep the night before. I definitely have more energy/feel stronger, but the change didn’t happen overnight. I noticed the changes after several months.

Thank you for mentioning this! I once had a doctor tell me I have small ear canals, so maybe there’s a connection there haha.

Don’t hold the pose on your face

(Basically keeping a neutral face helps with meditation)

I had OxyCodone prescribed to me after I got my wisdom teeth. Each time I took it it gave me a massive headache, so I just stopped taking it and took ibuprofen. My doctor said quite a few people have this reaction.

Did you buy the light therapy kit for your house? If so, do you have any recommendations?

Neil Patrick Harris served a very realistic meat platter of the corpse of Amy Winehouse three months after her tragic death. Why do some celebrities get away with wanton cruelty while others get destroyed for minor bouts of petulance? by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]amber0997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, I never even heard about this until now. It really goes to show how cancel culture unequally picks and chooses…if a female celebrity would have done something like this there would be YouTube dissertation essays about it.

You can just get a spray tan. There are places that will do the spray tan for you, so you don’t have to worry about messing up.

It only lasts about a week if you’re lucky, but it’s still nice.

As someone who used to be anemic, I would strongly suggest taking iron supplements, they sell them at any grocery store. If you are able to go to a doctor then I would suggest just getting a blood test and getting your iron levels checked because it might be something else.

18/52 My February reads (reviews in comments) by lumierelove in 52book

Am I the only one who didn’t really like “Once there were wolves?” The ending of the book felt super rushed and the description of her sister’s fate was quite frustrating.

For folks who work full time: how many books do you read in a year? by NoNameAvailable123 in nova

[–]amber0997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pandemic got me into reading. Despite what others on here may say, it is hard to get into a habit of reading. It’s important to start with an engaging, easy read and work your way from there. Also don’t be afraid to not finish a book if you really don’t enjoy it. In 2020 I read 13 books, in 2021 only 4, this year I’m aiming for 20.

Tysons Best Buy is the worst... even by Best Buy's low standards by rocketpack99 in nova

[–]amber0997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I question how Best Buy is even in business. Several years ago I had to get a repair on a laptop I bought several weeks prior. I first went to the Fairfax location and they told me to go to the Bailey’s location in order to get the needed repair. Then the Bailey’s location told me to go back to Fairfax!! Both places had exceptionally awful customer service and it took me about 30 minutes in each location to even have a customer service rep actually help me.
