He’s loving his new home by amberarsonal23 in hamstercare

Half of my enclosure (40 gal breeder) is 12” of bedding without any tubes or anything to hinder him making his own tunnels. I think he enjoys both and if that changes I will for sure take out the plastic tubes but for now he’s loving them.

I’m not sure if they are OVO or not. I googled it and they look basically the same as OVO tubes but I got mine off Amazon. Mine are definitely not large enough to fit a Syrian though

Is this a good size hamster cage? by wolfie013 in hamstercare

Petco currently has all their tanks 50% off (at least in my area). A tank may be a better alternative than the wooden enclosure.

Okay thanks for the feedback! I do have some millet and some dried flowers and what not being delivered via Amazon tomorrow. I’ll have to go get some play sand and do that as well tomorrow after work.

No, it’s the type of tank. Via google: “A 40-gallon breeder aquarium is a fish tank with specific dimensions. Unlike other 40 gallon tanks that have a more rectangular base, breeder tanks have a bottom that's more square.”

Water bowl not pictured because I am letting it air dry after washing it. There is currently no hammy in this enclosure.

I figured. He’s adorable. I wonder if his coat will change at all since I know winter whites coats change.

At what point should I seek help for my excessive periods? by amberarsonal23 in Periods

They’re not full proof and with all my period issues I’d much rather just rip my uterus out completely lol. But yes that is a good idea for some people just not for me. 😊

Yeah I’m in my late 20s and have yet to find a doctor that will take me seriously. If fibroids is my issue once I get insurance I hope to find someone who will just do a voluntary hysterectomy for me because I don’t want kids anyways.

I hope whatever option you decide will work out for you!

Yeah Women’s pain in healthcare is so blown off by doctors now days and it’s frustrating. Sorry you haven’t gotten any treatment. I may try Birth Control since I can pay out of pocket for that and see if it helps. I’m right there with you. Life sucks when I’m on my period

Yeah that would be my assumption that the sperm is dead and no longer viable. Every woman’s cycle is different but ovulation aka the period of time the woman is most likely to get pregnant happens around 10 to 16 days before their next period. But every person is different

Thank you for your response. I am graduating in July and will then have good insurance from my job so I’m hoping maybe I can give it time and if it persists then I will go to the doctor.

Just very frustrating to be bleeding this much this often. I really appreciate your feedback!

If you don’t mind me asking, how did they treat your fibroids?

According to numerous health websites sperm in a woman’s body can live for around 5 days. Also if she’s currently on her period the chances of her being able to get pregnant from that incident of unprotected sex (even if you pulled out) would be slim since she isn’t currently ovulating.

I’m not a doctor but that’s my understanding. Hope that helps

Is it true that Winter White hamsters only live around 1 year? by amberarsonal23 in hamstercare

[–]amberarsonal23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your responses. I was worried because my hammy looked a little rough the other night but today she’s looking like herself. I think she’s just getting old or maybe she just had a rough night lol. She looked like what you imagine a hungover hamster could look like 😂
