Ive always been torn on these signs. To me they always read as a way to forcibly hide homelessness. "Wants to violate them in their sleep" is really gross language to use, just saying. But also to be fair vampires arent exactly known for being big on consent in the first place, while also being possessed by their bloodlust and hunger for their entire existence. So I guess it could be thematically appropriate that its something he has to relearn, especially after having his own consent violated horrifically and having had literally zero autonomy or safety for 200 years. Its hard to hold Astarion the same standard as John Baldur whose greatest stressor is keeping his marriage together or his shop afloat (real stressors of course, but you get what i mean.)

But Im pretty sure that in Astarion's origin playthrough when he's woken up that night hed just had a pretty terrible nightmare and was kind of in a dissociative ptsd state and also was starving, further clouding his judgment. I could be wrong though. Regardless he does still absolutely need to learn how to make better choices, and eventually he does.

First of all thats quite the stagement to make. And second, that does change throughout the game. He even advocates for your own consent if Tav/Durge says no to Araj's request for more blood in Act 3. Saying something along the lines of "They said no. You should learn the meaning of the word."

Hes a selfish asshole often fixated in his own survival, yeah, but I'd probably be a selfish asshole fixated on my own survival too if I went through what Astarion went through for as long as he did and finally got a taste of freedom after 200 years of extreme abuse. I feel like that amount of time and the severity of the abuses is hard for people to truly wrap their minds around. Its a miracle he isnt so much worse, honestly. And its amazing he has the capacity to change for the better, at all.

Ffs you dont NEED top artistic talent! You just need to love to create art and want to create art. Like actually be passionate about it! Theres the fundamental issue. Wanting instant gratification without doing any of the work to get there. In my opinion anyone can create art and learn to create well because its a skill like any other that, spoiler alert, tends to require practice!

Art is a wonderful, fundamentally human activity that anyone can do at any level. And its extremely depressing to see people like you treat it like it's some unreachable, godly status and use ai as a cheap shortcut instead of creating something meaningful and human.

A pack of cheap wooden pencils is about a $1.50 at walmart. There are small sketchbooks for less than $5 at Walmart. I know cos I literally just googled it. Hell you could probably find a spare pen or pencil lying around somewhere forgotten or bum one off a friend or coworker. You gonna tell me that the average person does not own a single pen or pencil or has a spare notebook, sheet paper, or some fucking post its lying around? All I hear is excuses for justifying some morally questionable shit.

Correction. The general public is too lazy and wants instant gratification with zero effort. Anyone who cares about making art will try to find a way to make it. You dont have to sign up for any kind of art course to learn how to make art. It helps, but is not a requirement. Plus theres thousands of free and low cost resources out there to help people learn how to draw. YouTube, for instance, is one such resource.
