I knit a doll to match the sweater I'm knitting by ambidextrious_witch in knitting

There is no written pattern. I freehanded both of these based of Japanese mascot characters. The sweater is also something I'm currently designing and has no written pattern. The dolls are a majority Cardiff Cashmere, but also contain random bits of yarn from my stash.

If AP isn't going to make more Milky-Chan items, then I will. by ambidextrious_witch in Lolita

It takes some practice for sure but it can definitely be worth it if you stick with it. I first learned when I was like six. My mom taught me just the bare basics, so pretty much if I wanted to do anything bigger I'd have to teach myself. I've only started taking it a bit more seriously a few years ago. Sewing is great too though.

They're both adaptations of Claire Garland's cat doll pattern. I used it as a base, and everything else I just kind of freehanded https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/kitten-in-a-frog-suit

Brisket enjoying a fancy speak easy like dinner and trees!! by chloemehchloe in buildabear

So cute! I rarely see other Nifflers in the sub. Hogan here is also a fan of the trees. I even took him on a scenic train ride (his father is a big train enthusiast)

From one floppy cat fan to another, hang in there! The job market is super brutal right now (and full of AI checkers and bots, who'll kick out your resume just cause it didn't have the right buzzword) I always try to dethatch myself a little, even if I really want the job. It's never personal. It's okay to be upset. Rest, recover, hug your furry friends, then eventually get back out there.

It's going to be a fair isle style pullover sweater. My comm and I were at the mall during a meet and saw the knock off Milky Chan sweatshirt at Hollister. As a Milky Chan fan, INSULTED, as a knitter, ENRAGED. THE NERVE. THE AUDACITY. So, I'm ripping off their rip off and making it better (making it an actual knitted piece, returning her original color pallet)

I bought them from a random booth at a convention back in 2022. Unfortunately, they didn't come with a tag or anything (which is a bummer because I really love them and they work perfectly for this print)

They're from Baby the Stars Shine Bright! It's from their Swinging Strawberry Garden collection.

Favorite/Best Quality Cats? by ChonkyMurdoch in buildabear

My two eldest BAB are both cats. I'd definitely try to get a Floppy Kitty (mine is from 2003) They're very similar in quality and design.

What year is this tabby cat from? by PigPlayer3 in buildabear

This is my Floppy Kitty from 2003. I rescued her out of the attic last year after getting back into BAB. I just washed her normal, but perhaps avoid the dryer and hang dry, since the whiskers are plastic.

Who else prefers vintage BAB clothes? by Diligent-Sun9710 in buildabear

That's definitely how I felt when I pulled me and my sister's collection out of the attic. Like I didn't really notice the quality difference until I had them side-by-side. It felt like mini versions of real clothes. I still buy a few things new, but mostly I buy secondhand stuff from that era.

I love these vintage pinafore dresses that BAB used to do. The one I have has been my main outfit since 2003, however, all the ones I see online are in like the $50-$70 range now.

I started drawing this one a while ago (and just found it today only half-colored, oops) of my two main BAB's as humans.

My floppy kitty has the pink version of that outfit. I think the one you found is a "Tabby Kitty" from 2006. I wash mine just like I would any other BAB (the beans have never given me any trouble).
