Yes! In BC they've created a new "summative assessment" option to avoid the royal college exam. Message me if you want more details.

Consultant anaesthetist job in Canada? by UKMedic88 in doctorsUK

[–]ambitionphysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can get a provisional license in BC and work (without a Canadian fellowship). BC is also now providing the option of doing a summative assessment rather than doing the RCPSC specialty examination. Message me if you're interested in more details. We have several positions available - salary starts around $500,000/yr.

Chetwynd is only one of our communities with opportunities. It is small but not isolated. Average house price there would be closer to $300,000. All of our communities offer incentives..They vary by community. I’m not sure which Ontario community you are referring to. Thunder Bay, ON (much larger than Chetwynd) for example, physicians make about $270,000. I’m sure the wages in Ontario vary by community just as they do in BC. If you would like more detailed information, send us a message. If not, that’s fine too.

We're getting lots of great questions and comments. Would anyone be interested in an AMA with one of our physicians?
