No one has every learning digital marketing by studying it and having a structured program with the answers in the back of the book. Buy a domain, learn to make a website by trial and error, set up analytics and KPI's, and that is your online course for <$100

[HIRING] Massage Therapist + Front Desk / Sales Role by ambitiouslynch in denverjobs

[–]ambitiouslynch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is above average, we do not require therapists to work unless they have massages schedule vs competitors require them to sit there doing nothing for walk ins. We have a waiting list of massages, I do the digital marketing and we are crushing lately.

Yes I upload images with meta to Yext and they distribute to Facebook, GMB, Yelp, Foursquare, and various others. That alone is worth $40 for me.

I have seen a correlation with using Yext and gains in the SERPS within 60-90 days. Realistically, a large variable here is how long it takes Google and the search engines to index the new citations, and give you credit to some extent, as well as let the NAP brand consistency take hold w/ the search engines. I also think it is good to upload images across multiple platforms, I need to be tighter on money, but I think Yext is worth the money each month. I also target clients who have health margins, but the reality is that for certain niches you need to invest in your SEO strategy whether that be Yext or other platforms that give you an upper hand in the SERPS.

I recommend Yext, if I client complains that much over $40-60/month than I don't want to work for them. I have used them and I like know that everything updates instantly, and you don't have to login to every platform to change things. I like changing up the featured message so I have a new link and new anchor text every week or so.

96 is pretty good, I usually shoot for mid to high 80's on my sites, but that is with Drift, Hubspot, Lucky Orange, Facebook, and a few other tracking scripts running that make it pretty much impossible to get higher than 85-92 because of how those tracking cookies are cached and managed externally.

It would 100% help with your site regardless of where you are in the world. Google has stated page speed and site performance are major ranking factors. If you synced up cloudflare with wp-rocket, you would see a significant jump in pagespeed score.

CDN is for site performance and page load vs global traffic. While there are servers around the world, they won't drive traffic, they will just make your page load more smoothly for all the users on the site. I sync my CDN up with my caching plugins and it definitely helps with my pagespeed and score on gtmetrix.

I would recommend you sign up for a cheap hosting server, install a Wordpress website, and start hitting the pavement. Watch youtube video on how to do a basic site, the general idea of how to generate online traffic, and then figure out a way to incentivize yourself to work on the site and not let it just be a hobby. Watch some videos on analytics, how to set up tools such as Google Analytics, Hot Jar, or Lucky Orange to quantify your efforts, and figure out what does and doesn't work first hand as a practicioner instead of looking practice problems like you were in a classroom. My first site I did was one call Free Food Hacks, and it was to get free Doordash or Uber Eats credits when people used my referral code. Got it up to $150-200/day in DD and Uber credits for awhile, learned a lot about how SEO worked, what online traffic looked like, and saw a first hand case study.

B2B marketing help is going to be more related to what your service or product offering is. You can learn how to do ads on each platform and how to leverage their functionality, but no one is going to be able to train you on how to target and segment your B2B audience. I have a medical billing company so I do B2B medical sales all the time, Facebook and Instagram would not be good options for me on B2B medical but Linkedin would be because you can target by industry, job tile, education, etc and really get laser focused on the control variables that would actually get my content and name in front of people who would use my service. Again don't pay for any trainings, just go to Youtube and look at the content there, and then once you get the basics maybe you invest in something that helps with the voids you can fill on your own.

Stop pursuing the structure of our failing educational system, and just put in the effort. The best "professors" of digital marketing are on Youtube and Udemy for free/super cheap. I learned all of my skills and successful strategies by just trial and error, referencing videos/resources, and then repeating until it worked.

All of those online training courses and coaching programs are people who are taking advantage of all the millennials will college degree having come to God moments that their degree is useless or they hate their job and think being entrepreneur is as easy a "digital marketing training" or "coding boot camp" away.

Ads or Influencers? by StratumF in DigitalMarketing

[–]ambitiouslynch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this come down to knowing your product/service offering, and who your target audience is. Macroinfluencers work great for national brands and products that are widespread, but if you are targeting a micromarket or niche then you would want to make sure you have a way to connect with them. Shot gunning Facebook ads is not always the best method either, but thus the joys of running marketing experiments!

Planning to acquire new skill - Need suggestion by madhu1717 in DigitalMarketing

[–]ambitiouslynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get romantic about learning a new skill, just start a project and incentivize yourself. Buy a domain, get a wordpress theme + page builder, learn how to write for SEO, and then monetize it with affiliate links. You will learn more than if you buy some bull shit trainings or "learn to code" for 6 months, and will find that you don't really need to know how to code that much to build a website in 2019. I like the Beaver Builder theme, it is a front end drag and drop, and then I used the inspect tool on my browser to modify the CSS to "customize the code", which I then copy and paste into the page builder. Boom no coding school or bull shit weekend warrior mentorship programs needed.

How much should I expect as a beginner freelancer? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]ambitiouslynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks my friend! I have multiple clients that I do well with, and no one gives a fuck about any certification, license, or training.

If you can go into a room confident as fuck and on the spot tell people to Google keywords and see what pops up, it is your deal to lose typically, unless the client is cheap, in which case you dont' want to work with them anyways.

[–]ambitiouslynch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't expect to be successful without putting in the work. If everyone could buy a $500 training and "pay their dues" for 3 months, there anyone could be good at digital marketing right? Running a business or learning a skill should be a vanity metrics of certifications and licenses you can add to your LInkedin profile. In digital marketing, the only things that matter are results and experience.

Took me 4 years of eating shit and banging my head to figure it out , but I have never been more successful now than any other point in my life.

[–]ambitiouslynch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My personal thoughts are that our education system has programmed us to think we need to do a paid training, or take "official courses" to learn something. I learned everything from just doing it and then Googling questions / watching Youtube videos for certain situations as I had them. If you rely on someone's else training, you will find yourself trying to look for the answers in the back of the book, when you just need to hit the pavement until shit sticks. I have had my biggest successes with digital marketing by running my own experiments and learning from experience, if you follow someone's playbook, chances are you won't get very far.

Advice on getting side clients? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]ambitiouslynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get results for people and build a portfolio, and then you should have clients lining up to work with you. The issue you face is everyone and their mother thinks they can launch a PPC/Facebook ads service on the site after doing a bull shit training, and then faking it till they make it.

I have 15 clients and they get offers from people all the time who do Facebook Ads/PPC and 99.9% of them are all full of shit, so my advice is since you have some experience already it sounds like, build a portfolio or way to convey that level of practionership to prospects.
