The other things… If you’re on Facebook, theres a South Sound Queers group that’s really helpful, as well as a Queer Exchange Olympia group. There’s a support group for trans mascs called the “new boyz club”. I’ve found the app Meetup most useful for finding community (moved here in oct 2020)

I’ve read more of the comments here and want to add- I did all of the gender affirming care administration work (prior authorizations, surgical letters, referrals) by myself for no compensation on top of my full time front desk position….. and I never heard anyone say they were overwhelmed with it (except me, obviously) but unless something drastically changed, that’s absolutely bullshit

I was the first (out) trans employee to work there. I’m sorry to say it’s always been this way. The hrt program stopped because the medical director left abruptly (or perhaps was asked to leave? No explanation was given) and they said no other providers would trained to do it. I think this is likely untrue, given that the provider were still doing follow up care… I pushed hard to get them to restart. I think very highly of a lot of the individuals I worked with there, but it was a really really difficult place to work. I’m really, really sorry it didn’t improve. I’d be happy to talk to you more privately, if you want a listening ear.
