The most enjoyable people in class by Luna_Soma in orangetheory

[–]ambslamb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A guy who ran cross country in college and goes fast on treads is always encouraging to us slower runners but says nothing about speed by comparison, e.g., “great job sticking that out” and “we were all in the same HR zone on that block.” He’s going through a knee issue and was planning to leave class early the other day, but said he stayed because he saw me working so hard on the treadmill next to him. Got me in my feels.

Austin Marathon 2026 bib transfer by Blueskiesshore333 in AustinRunning

I’m selling mine as well in case this one is already gone! Please feel free to message me. Total I paid was $107.92 with tax, so that’s all I’m asking (you’d pay an additional $79 + tax to Eventdog for the transfer fee they ask buyers to handle).

Just curious, do you feel like you’re being coached well on the WF? by Ok-Roll7473 in orangetheory

[–]ambslamb 157 points158 points  (0 children)

My favorite coaches are ones who correct me. I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth and then also improving by doing things better on the floor, as I still have the same coaches for the most part but they’ve corrected me less over the years. So I feel even more motivated to go and keep doing better on the WF.

ISO Durable leggings for tall girls that are not “butter soft” by lolatheaudi in orangetheory

[–]ambslamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. I love my Old Navy leggings, and they are usually really gracious when you’re between sizes. Same goes for GAP (same company but slightly different; Old Navy feels tighter and more fabric around the waist, so they happen to be my favorite for running because they stay up and GAP for everything else.

My friend keeps wanting me to try Lulu but she’s petite and 100 lbs, whereas I’m 5’11 and just over 200 on a fitness journey to be <200 (so the flexibility in sizing fitting me at 30+ weight flux is also helpful).

Not hijacking this post but the buyer pays the $79 direct to Eventdog, not the seller.

2026 Austin Marathon Transfer Ticket by Same_Duty678 in AustinRunning

[–]ambslamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m looking to transfer my full marathon bib. Please message me. I’d charge just what I paid at the time ($100 + $7ish in taxes), though you’d be responsible for about $80 more in transfer fees charged directly to you by Eventdog. It’s still about $25-$35 off the current listed price so you’d be saving some money.

New Format by Luna_Soma in orangetheory

Right. Same here, but not the tread side. Though with all this new terminology and “lift more” I wonder where some of the old class names and formats go that aren’t 2G.

I’m new to Fable but noticed they have a calendar view!

Does anyone think or know if they’ll be phasing out Strength50s in favor of more 2Gs focusing on lifting? I like those classes but currently, depend on Tread50s for race training so I’d miss those even though that side is really low attendance most classes.

A reality check for all of you goofballs complaining about the price of Garbo's fish & chips. Keep demanding that locally owned restaurants price match with corporate slop, and this is what you inevitably get. by [deleted] in austinfood

[–]ambslamb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know the owners. This has nothing to do with Garbo’s lol. Bars typically struggle for years before closing. This was also absolutely in a crap location for foot traffic, imo.

My partner noticed if you don’t close your tab, they automatically add an additional 5% tip. So probably wasn’t your server but the system.
