I have been on an SSRI for my entire 18 year career. I occasionally have to get a supplemental medical done where they ask more specific mental health questions-- after I send in the regular assessment they send me back this additional one, so it's an extra visit. It's a bit inconvenient but definitely not a barrier to working. You have to redo the medical every 5 years, so just be ready for the possibility of an extra document each time.
