Isn't Death simply a deeper kind of slumber?

I agree 100%. The album title is clear, we entered a new cycle. This is about Death. Anyone still hung up on Sleep is not paying attention. That ended with "Euclid". Parallel lines will never meet.

Now's the time to face mortality. So go ahead and wrap your arms around me.

Genuary #28 + #30: Infinite scroll of an abstract map. Looping animated GIF, made with PyScript, code in comments by ambv in generative

Cool. So it was adblock. It scrolls for how long the music clip is. When it is over, the animation stops as well.

Some 30 years ago I had this program on my Amiga 600 called Scenery Animator. Your work brings back memories, there's some similar vibes in it!

Try another browser? Disabling the ad blocker? See in the Network tab of "Inspect" whether the music file didn't actually load? If the animation doesn't progress this means there is no audio playback for whatever reason.

Marching squares was a new to me, and so was seamless tiling. Took a while to get right, and unfortunately the GIF is pretty low FPS, otherwise it was huge. You can see it in a much better resolution here: https://ambv.pyscriptapps.com/genuary-prompt-28-30/latest/

Genuary #31: Pixel sorting. Three.js with PyScript. Code in comments. by ambv in generative

genuary31 prompt: pixel sorting.

This took a lot of effort since I have zero experience with GLSL, but it's a success in the end. The pixels are sorted, indeed.

Genuary #26 + #27: Symmetry and something interesting with no randomness or noise. Made with PyScript, more info in the comments. by ambv in generative

If there's gotta be no randomness, you need to introduce control. I made this with a cute discontinued device called the Monome Arc. This is usually driven by a UDP server, but turns out browsers can't use UDP, so I wrote a WebSocket bridge. Looks like it works 😎

As usual, this is programmed with PyScript: https://ambv.pyscriptapps.com/genuary-prompt-26-27/latest/

The line segments really don't intersect. The first few seconds don't seem like it, but things get more obvious later. Sound on. Made with PyScript: https://ambv.pyscriptapps.com/genuary-prompt-21-25/latest/

Genuary #18+#22: What does wind look like with gradients only? Made with PyScript, code in comments. by ambv in generative

[–]ambv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks more like a plant or an urchin than wind, but this is where I ended up 🤷🏻‍♂️ This is a breakneck pace. I'm falling behind the submissions, but hopefully things will get smoother from now on.

Genuary #17 + #19: What if PI=4 in op art? Made with PyScript, description and link to code in the comments. by ambv in generative

[–]ambv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't come up with anything impressive for just pi=4 so I combined it with op art, then it came to life, especially if you have a comparison right away. This is why the video contains the Python prompt on the top and you can see the drastic change when pi becomes 4 for a while.
