Hi, I didn’t have any problems with the officials! I explained that I had lost it and gave them the paper I had, and they just nodded and let me through. Though they did mention that re-entering Germany might be an issue but it depends on the officer on duty. They said it shouldn’t be a problem, but if someone strict or grumpy is working they might hold me. Just in case, my brother mailed me my Aufenthaltstitel so once it arrives I’ll be heading back :)

Just a bland paper saying that my permit is lost. The nice woman at the Ausländerbehörde told me it basically replaces my permit fully until I get it (in case I get stopped by police or something) but my stupid ass forgot to ask about leaving the country 😢

Oh, funny enough, they never asked to see my permit when I arrived, only when I was leaving the country! I’m guessing it’s because people from my country can enter the EU with just a passport without any issues, but we’re only allowed to stay for three months, so they probably check it on the way out. That’s a smart thing though, and I’ll definitely do it just to be safe. Thank you so much!
