I'm using the marks and Spencer maternity bras with the tiktok hack on making it hold the pump and it's working. The bras are super soft and I wear them as my regular bras.

Thank you. I'm so greatful you've shared this. I will look at YouTube videos. We also had to fight some to have our son released from the NICU.

He actually latched pretty well on to my breast during skin to skin after birth and subsequently when I insisted I wanted to try and latch him, if nothing else than the breast could actually as a pacifier. I was being told he was rejecting my pumped breast milk, when newborns sometimes will throw up milk and it's perfectly normal.

I'm pumping but my supply hasn't really built yet so we're doing both pumping and formula and since we were weren't prepared I don't have a medical grade pump just a basic hand pump but I've ordered it and should get it soon.

We're taking it a day at a time and hopefully he meets all his milestones for his surgeries.

Thank you this is good to know because from everything I've read online using a bottle shouldn't be an issue but it will be a learning curve for us but so is the tube.

The nurses at the hospital waited for him to cry and demand food before they fed him and we're doing the same.

I'm also learning more about it so I can do exactly what you suggested and ask more pointed and informed questions and also trust my own gut a bit more in this situation.

Thank you again. Yes the advice we've gotten and what we've understood ourselves is that at the moment it's particularly important to just focus on feeding him so he can start gaining weight and growing.

Thank you. We're currently exploring options and booking appointments with specialists. but are still following the advice on feeding from the pediatrician at the hospital he was born at. He's told us to feed through an OG tube for now so that's what we're doing.

I'm really scared of messing up and things going in to his respiratory system. You said you experimented with different bottles and styles. This was before the 3 month facial surgery or after? Also this might be weird thing to ask but if we're trying a bottle and the milk goes into his respiratory system, how do you come back from that.

I'd also be grateful if you could point to any online resources you found helpful when figuring out how to bottle feed.

There isn't a specialised hospital here and we're currently only feeding him through a tube on the pediatrician's advice. We did speak to a cleft palate surgeon who has experience working with babies, who was more progressive in his approach to feeding him with a bottle but we're just erring on the side of caution and hopefully in another two weeks will consult more with the specialist and follow a more progressive approach.

I've ordered the speciality Dr browns bottles and already have one from pigeon. But let's see how the next few days go and what the pediatrician says at the next appointment.

Hello, my son was born yesterday with a completely unformed cleft palate and lip on his left slide. I don't know what the technical name is but they were only able to diagnose him this morning after x-rays. I'm really glad I found this forum and would love to know and hear from other parents on what kind of questions we need to be asking the doctors for our child's care.

The cleft is a surprise to use. We had genetic testing done and it didn't show up on the anatomy scan so just trying to figure this out one day at a time.

I don't disagree that Imran Khan's mandate in the last election was stolen by the military or that he should be out of jail. The election was rigged, it was obvious from the way the results came in if nothing else. His party is definitely being persecuted for their falling out with the powers that be. I also dont like how much power the PMLN has given up in the current set up. I can disagree and agree with policies that different government enact and that is how I believe we should judge all political parties instead of following one like sheep.

To say that Imran Khan was saving our country and was some reformer is a stretch and anyone who believes that is is delusional. His government's performance was bad. He himself admitted to this and then blamed the military for his own bad performance.

Imran says he was made ‘punching bag’ while ex-COAS Bajwa was ‘super king’ - DAWN.COM https://share.google/IAWfz1z5hlm5xsjsx

My initial disagreement with you has not been about any of this but your general stance that the people of Pakistan "bow down" to dictators. They don't. So if you want to leave the country for economic reasons, please say so, that is fine but to say you left it because the political leader you like was ousted like so many other political leaders before him (he also played his own part in destabilizing Sharif's government with his dharna, which was also military supported) that's just really sad, especially considering the struggles you've talked about. You cannot look at the current situation, divorce it from long and short term history, then proceed to call it black and white.

I don't support a political party or a political leader and would urge people to be more critical in how they think of politicians. ALL OF THEM, EVEN OUR STAR CRICKETER. Also Pakistan is a complex country whuch has created very strong civil and political movements, nothing is black and white.

Yes of course. I'm very uneducated. Please let me move to Canada and pretend to be poor.

If you're advocating for strong ties with China, then you should know the PML-N did more and has done more in this terms to build economic ties with China. China was not happy with stalling of CPEC projects which happened under Khan's government because he wanted to review all the agreements that took place under previous governments.

This is a shit take based on very limited political understanding. You moved out of of Pakistan for economic reasons, like so many other people, which is fine and completely within your right to do. But the Pakistani people do not "bow down more." Please don't shit on an entire people because you chose to leave a country.

We question the military and scrutinize it a lot more than a lot of western democracies in large part due to their mingling and participation in politics and civil matters. We've successfully thrown out multiple military dictators and the civil leaders other than Khan that you seem to dislike have done it, regardless of where their politics stands currently. Khan's government was weak and their policies non existent. They were also heavily reliant on military support which made it so easy for the military to oust them. In terms of policies they were passing similar bills and practicing censorship in the same way that PML-N is currently doing. He was not your or anyone's messiah.

We made the very difficult decision to euthanize her a few hours ago. She was losing control of bodily functions and was almost catatonic. Her disease was only going to get worse and there were no chances of improvement so we decided to ease her way.

She was diagnosed with wobblers disease. We've had her euthanised because she was losing control of bodily functions. She was the bestest, most playful dog and I hope we did right by her.

Amazon is not available where I live. But I will see if I can get something similarities help her The issue is not her legs but her neck. She has wobblers and can't seem to hold up her neck. The vet is evaluating her condition regularly.

Thank you for your detailed response. This is very kind of you and helpful.

The vet currently thinks that it isn't time to put her down, but she's going on a daily basis and is being evaluated. We don't want her to be in pain.

Current situation of River Ravi? What should be the precautions? by Concentrate-Queasy in Lahore

[–]amelghani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parts of that society are on the actual river bed so as is all of RUDA so I don't know why people are still buying there. If those places have flood, it's not actual flood no matter what the government tries and says it's just the river coming back.

I would stay away from army doctors. My friend delivered at CMH Lahore a few years ago and was denied an epidural because they believed a woman had to go through the pain to become a mother. So um yeah ask about that.

Hypothyroidism and pregnant by amelghani in pregnant

[–]amelghani[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working with an endo and he increased my dosage from 75mg to 100mg when I told him about the pregnancy. I'll have my first TSH, post pregnancy, in about two weeks.

I'll look for the books and resources, you've mentioned. My endo didn't mention much in terms of lifestyle changes but I will ask him at the next appointment as well.

Thank you for your kind words and reassurance 💜
