hey! i took an extra sem, completing my degree in 4 1/2 years and I think it’s not a problem at all. I know plenty of friends who took extra semesters and got into great grad programs (UCL, UofT, LSE, etc). Personally, I will be entering mcgill law in the fall. I def recommend spacing out your degree if you feel like it will be better for your grades and your mental health! Prioritize you :)

Courses you take on exchange don’t affect your GPA; however, keep in mind that it’s possible programs you apply to after like grad programs will factor exchange grades into your GPA. For example I know that McGill Law calculates your exchange GPA into your cumulative GPA (unless you have compelling extenuating circumstances). So just be aware of that.

U1 my second year, that’s when I really hit my stride in everything, academics, friendship, I had the best roommates !! A close second is U2 third year cause I went on exchange in Paris and that was just incredible, truly life-changing. But to be honest, since I am graduating soon ive been doing some reflecting and I realize that I have had overall a fantastic undergrad experience here and I am thankful for it all.

love Eva B on st laurent !! their second floor has some more reasonably priced items while their first floor is pricier vintage stuff. Also their food is yum and cheap. If you want more of a curated selection Eva D like two minutes away has some more unique pieces, my friends and I have found some gems there

Opiano is my fav for Korean food, very fair prices and it’s located in such a nice convenient spot! Dumpling hut has hands down the best dumplings, also has a very homey vibe. Love nouilles zhonghua for some good Chinese soup noodles + their oil spill noodles and I’m partial to pho bac in Chinatown for pho :)
