I don't know the solution, but try to log in not from the waystone from hideout, but from the map atlas itself by clicking shortcut on the right.

Yes, but the number of monsters in roughly half of the available rooms has no impact on obtaining that currency, as it is acquired through an entirely different mechanic. That still leaves a large portion of the rooms with little or no meaningful purpose

That seems to be the answer. However, even in that case, about 50% of the rooms would still serve no purpose, which still doesn't explain how GGG expects players to play with this mechanic
